Page 6 Student Recognition Mrs. Hafer and Mrs. O Neill s 6 th grade science classes participated in a Test-Taking Escape Room which took them on a secret mission around their classroom. Students worked together in groups to decode 4 universal testing tips that can be used for any subject while building team-work and communication skills.
Page 7 SPORTS IN THE COUGAR S DEN! Fugett Sports for the Week of October 22 Winter sports begin in November- students should listen for announcements from coaches about start dates and times. Students and Parents should be reminded that the expectation of a student athlete has always been that they are ambassadors of the school and represent the school when traveling to an away game. For the safety of all students and for the image that, as a school, Fugett wants to portray to others, any misbehavior on the bus or at an away game will not be tolerated and there will be consequences for poor student behavior. Fugett students have been regarded as exceptional young men and women who treat others with respect and exhibit good sportsmanship. We do not want to tarnish this image.

Page 9 Dear Students and Parents, Special Announcements Welcome to 6 th Grade Intramural Soccer! We are looking forward to a great few weeks with you! Co-ed intramurals will be fun and a great learning experience. We will be learning proper stretching and training techniques, running drills, skill drills, positioning, scrimmaging, sportsmanship, and teamwork! We will be holding practice after school from 2:15 4:30 pm according to the attached schedule. We will be playing either at the fields on Paoli Pike or the Price Fields across Ellis Lane. Please make sure that your ride is here promptly! The coaches need to leave school by 4:45pm for classes, etc. You should be dressed properly for practice: It will be getting VERY cold outside, wear layers! I would also recommend wearing a thin pair of gloves! Shin guards and cleats are not mandatory, but are recommended! Bring a SNACK to eat before we begin. Good snack ideas include pretzels, a peanut butter sandwich, fruit, juice, etc. You could also bring bottled water as we do a lot of running! Please keep in mind the district s activity fee. This will need to be paid by all students participating in 6 th grade soccer. Please see the district website on how to pay the activity fee. Coaches will not accept any activity fees! As this is 6 th grade soccer, sport s physicals are not necessary. Students will receive a blue card on the first day of practice where you can write emergency information and contact information. There is no formal signups for 6 th grade soccer. As long as the activity fee is paid, students can come to the first practice. Please get changed in the locker room and leave your things in the locker room while we play. Do not put on your cleats until you re outside! We ll meet in the cafeteria at 2:30 pm each day. Let s have fun! The schedule is attached. Please listen to the announcements for any changes due to inclement weather! See you on Monday, October 23 rd! Mr. Nefos and Mrs. Murawski
