Did you know that you can access lunch account information and deposit funds to your student's account at mylunchmoney.com? There is a small fee associated with depositing money, but you can check the balance and get a 7 day history of purchases at no charge. You may also contact Susan_E_Ault@mcpsmd.org or 301-601-3198 to get a complete history. When writing checks to the cafeteria, please include your student's name, cafeteria PIN and a phone number. This helps speed up the lines when the students don't have to take the time to write this on their checks as they are coming to get their meals. The array of choices offered in the cafeteria can be a bit overwhelming especially for our new 6th graders! Our meal program consists of 5 components; main, fruit, vegetable, grain and dairy. The students may select 1 main choice, up to 3 other components and milk. One of the components must be a fruit or vegetable choice. The menu cycle changes throughout the year to offer a better variety of choices to the students. Some of the main choices this cycle include; Asian beef with rice, roasted bone in chicken with mashed potatoes and stuffing, shrimp poppers with vegetable rice, orange chicken with whole grain rice, hamburger, chicken patty, pizza and cheese dippers. In addition, we offer a main salad choice, hummus with pita chips, cold sandwich and PBJ daily. The side choices may include; fresh and canned fruit, baby carrots with ranch dip, soup of the day, side salad, hot veggies and sweet potato bites. Additional meals and snacks can be purchased at alacarte prices. This may be a good time to discuss with your student whether or not they should be purchasing "extras" in the cafeteria. If necessary, we can place a block on the account and the students would only be allowed to purchase a complete breakfast and lunch. We offer breakfast daily in the cafeteria. Choices for breakfast include; hot breakfast sandwich, cinnamon roll, french toast, bagel with cream cheese, egg and cheese wrap, bagelful and pancakes. Students that are eligible for reduced price meals are able to get breakfast at no charge. Any students that were on our lunch program last year (free or reduced meals), still have the same eligibility until a new form is processed for this school year. Please fill out the new forms and return them to school as quickly as possible to avoid any lapse in eligibility. After the forms are returned to us, they are forwarded to the Food and Nutrition Office for processing. You can expect to get notification of the results in about 7-10 days. I am looking for student helpers in the mornings from 7:00-7:30. Students would be helping to set up lines for breakfast, filling chip racks, drink barrels etc. All hours would be logged and can be used for SSL hours. Please let me know if your student would be interested. Thanks for trusting us to help with your students nutritional needs!
