It was fantastic to see so many grandparents at our special prep morning the youngest members of our school community were so proud to showcase their school and their classroom and their grandparents happily joined in all the fun. Students from Years 1 to 4 had a fantastic session with the students from SEDA (Sports and Education Development Australia) who came to conduct a basketball clinic on Tuesday. Yesterday afternoon the senior students in Years 5 and 6 welcomed many of their parents into the learning centre for the official naming of their rooms. This is the culmination of work completed over the course of the term where students researched many of the people and places that are associated with Edithvale. The cross country trials which involve students from Years 3 to 6 were scheduled for this morning and we had our fingers crossed that the weather treated us well. Unfortunately we have had to postpone them until early next term. The safety of our students and their families is of utmost importance to us so it gives me great pleasure to announce that on Wednesday April 10 at 11am the new pedestrian lights in front of the school on Edithvale Road will be turned on. Many thanks go to School Council and everyone who has lobbied on our behalf to get the lights installed. I would like to thank you all for your support over the past term the partnerships that we have developed with you allow us to provide the best learning experiences for your children. Have a wonderful Easter and a safe and happy holiday. IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE The safety of our students and their families is of utmost importance. Drop off and pick up times are now of great concern to the school community and our neighbours, because some parents are not observing the parking restrictions that are in place. Haig Avenue and French Avenue are particularly congested and we ask that everyone assists in ensuring that our children are safe when going to and from school. Thank you. FIRE DRILL Due to the many activities scheduled for this week and the fairly ordinary weather conditions of the last few days, we were unable to proceed with our proposed evacuation drill. This will be postponed to a day in the first few weeks of Term 2. RCH GOOD FRIDAY APPEAL The tally raised by Edithvale Primary School as at Wednesday afternoon is $600.00. Thankyou to everyone for your donation.
