Core Function: Effective Practice: Dimension A - Instructional Excellence and Alignment High expectations for all staff and students KEY A1.07 ALL teachers employ effective classroom management and reinforce classroom rules and procedures by positively teaching them.(5088) In the past we have used the peace curriculum based on the Montessori philosophy. We have also implemented strategies such as time outs with the curriculum facilitator, media specialist, and guidance, the peace room, and other tools. Discipline referrals will decrease. A positive climate will be the norm on a daily basis. All teachers will use the same strategies to manage classrooms regardless of age/grade level. Students will become more independent and responsible for the behaviors and have a sense of accountability for their actions. 08/14/2017 Pamela Ford 06/20/2019 Action(s) Created Date 0 of 2 (0%) 1 2 8/14/17 9/11/17 Teachers will attend additional training sessions on Restorative Practices and other classroom management related training sessions.
