REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD October 9, 2017 6:30 P.M. 2017-13-188 CALL TO ORDER Board President, Carolyn Lloyd called the regular meeting to order. The Pledge of Allengiance was given. 2017-13-189 INFORMATION REPORT Performance Services presented a review of the facility study. 2017-13-190 ADOPTION OF AGENDA A motion was made that the agenda of the October 13, 2017 regular meeting of the Board of School Trustees be approved as Motion by Mr. Kevin Cates Seconded by Mr. Jeff Dennis 2017-13-191 APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2017-13-192 CLAIMS A motion was made that the minutes of the September 11, 2017 regular meeting of the Board of School Trustees be approved as Seconded by Mr. Jason Beck Claims 5711, 5725, and 5789 were questioned and reviewed by the board. 2017-13-198 NATIONAL FFA CONVENTION A motion was made that the FFA be granted permission for an overnight trip on October 25 and 26 to attend the National FFA Convention Career Development Event in Indianapolis. Seconded by Mr. Jason Beck 2017-13-199 STATEMENTS FROM EMPLOYEES None 2017-13-200 STATEMENTS FROM BOARD None 2017-13-201 PRINCIPAL S UPDATE 1. Elementary - Mrs. Karrfalt reported the first nine weeks went smoothly. The staff is experiencing many changes with the new NWEA testing. Open communication among teachers has helped tremendously, as they work through this process. The transition of Mrs. Kara Taylor in the library is working out great. Upcoming events include: Fire Prevention Week, Red Ribbon Week and Grandparents Day. 2. Middle School - Mr. Reynolds reported the switch to NWEA has been great with coordination and assistance from the elementary. A special thank you to Mrs. Karrfalt and Mrs. Jodi Snyder. Football and Volleyball seasons are over and both had successes. Mr. Reynolds also reported a good first nine weeks. 3. High School - Mr. Cunningham extended a special thank you to the elementary staff for laying a solid foundation for students. Mr. Cunningham reported, the FFA Chapter had four students become State Champions, when they competed at the state level in June. The students each received a $10,000 scholarship. They are representing Indiana at the National Convention. 2017-13-202 SUPERINTENDENT S REPORT 1. Performance Services - Discussion - Next Steps 2. Dr. Hatton reported the ADM final count was 890. 3. Fall Break will be October 18-20

2017-13-203 DOCUMENT SIGNING Minutes, claims, and addendums were signed by the board. 2017-13-204 ADJOURNMENT A motion was made to adjourn at 7:49 p.m. An executive session was held at 6:00 p.m. to discuss personnel.
