YEAR 11 REPORTS As you may be aware, Year 11s will start their Pre-Public Exams (PPEs) on January 21 st 2019. So that we can give accurate and personalised comments for each student, we have decided to delay Year 11 reports until after the PPE exams. If in the meantime you would like any feedback on the progress of your Year 11 child, please contact their teacher in the usual way. PROGRAMME OF RESIDENTIAL TRIPS 2019-2024 In order to help parents financially plan for residential trips, a programme of residential visits is outlined below. There are also additional day trips as part of our curriculum enrichment programme, which include field work visits etc. There is also an annual Activities Days programme in July in which some of the more expensive residential trips are mentioned below. There is a Duke of Edinburgh s Award scheme for Year 9-11 which may include low-cost residential. Costs will be advised when groups are sorted. To help with planning, the following is given as a guideline for expected costs: Approximate Cost and Group Size based on 2018/19 costs Residential Trip Leader Approx cost Group size When Frequency When launched Ski Trip Mrs Robertson 899 40 Feb half term Annual 18 months prior Madagascar Mrs Robertson/ Mr Greenfield 3995 12 July Bi-annual 2 years prior France Paris or Normandy Mr Piper 300-350 35-40 July 2020 Bi-annually Sep 2019 (aimed at lower school Y7-9) France Ardeche Mr Keitch 630 40 July Annual 1 year prior Proposed trips for future years With skiing there may be additional costs to cover clothing hire. For international visits students will need a current passport. They will also need a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC card) for trips within Europe. This outline does not guarantee these trips will definitely run, as this is dependent upon sufficient numbers and staff availability to run the trips. Students will be given information about trips well in advance. However, if parents/carers would like general information they should contact the trip organiser at the school Some parents may notice that Sicily is missing from the list. This is due to the cost, which it has been decided is now too high. However, we are looking into an alternative trip and will notify parents as soon as possible
