P A G E 2 Welcome Nadia! On behalf of the community, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Nadia Rento who joins our Education Support team this week. Welcome back Pat! The students and staff were very excited to see Pat Anderson (Bu) back at BCS returning from her amazing adventures in Antarctica and South America. Pat has a very different, but important role to play in 2018. Pat s teaching duties will be Indonesian for all classes and working in the 34R class on Mondays. Pat will also have roles with Teaching & Learning Coaching with all staff throughout 2018. I look forward to the great support Pat will provide for students, staff and families for the remainder of 2018. Vacation Chook Duties I would like to thank Amber Stewart and Marz Rickard & families for sharing the chook duties over the vacation break ensuring our girls were well looked after! Your efforts are greatly appreciated! Grounds Maintenance I would like to thank Ian Fenton for his efforts after Easter, ensuring our grounds and facilities were looked after during the break. Top effort again Ian! Pool Repairs No Rest for Anthony! Building & Grounds Coordinator Anthony Kovco, has commenced the quotation process over the break and we should have enough information for the May meeting of School Council to commence the formal tender process so the works can be completed over winter. More information will be available in May! David Keil Thank you to Nick De Wys for creating our Wagoll Graphics for our effective learning posters. The effective learning posters will be rolled out into classrooms and learning spaces over the next few weeks. Wagoll will be at this Friday s assembly for parents and all students to meet. Indo Info! I'm back and so is Indonesian at Boisdale! For new families, my name is Pat Anderson and I will be teaching Indonesian to all grades during 2018. The students call me " Bu" as this means "Mrs" in Indonesian. I have recently returned from an amazing trip around South America with 3880 photograpghs...so I couldn't resist sharing some of these with students for our first Indo session...lets call it multi cultural awareness. The students have been fascinated by the many different environments and wildlife across the countries that I visited and we were able to contrast these with what we know about Indonesia. I would like to use the newsletter to update families on the Indonesian program. If you have any questions about this program please do not hesitate to contact me. Bu Anderson Bike Brigade Calling for more volunteers to help support the ongoing Bike Brigade program. This is on Thursdays at 11 am and at 1:50 pm. We currently have 4 great blokes who give their time and resources to help with this program. If possible we could use 2 more willing personnel to cover for them, when they have a holiday. If you feel this is something you can help with, please contact me on 0456 456 898. I look forward to hearing from you. Mark Churchill School Chaplain
