PRINCIPAL S MESSAGE Shri. S. V. Joglekar Once again it is a matter of great pride for me that KV Barkuhi is coming out with the next issue of Newsletter. Today, the teaching is not confined only to the classrooms, but it has extended to the whole world. It is very important to bridge the classroom education with the world outside the school. Under CMP, we are trying our best to give our students a practical knowledge, discourage rote learning and make our students a productive and revolutionary global citizen. Mingled with motivational approach and positive reinforcement, the child centered methodology cherishes the values to tolerance, fair play, compassion, and independent thinking. It s my proud privilege to put forward this newsletter showing achievements of our blooming buds and activities held I the Vidyalaya. I would like to extend my heartiest thanks to all the teachers for their valuable contribution in coming up with this newsletter. Along with academic excellence, we provide a platform to the students to showcase their individual talents in all spheres of life. WORD FROM THE HEADMASTER Shri. S. K. Sahu Primary education is the foundation on which the development of every citizen and the nation as a whole is built on. K.V.S. is in the constant endeavour by implementing the Common Minimum Programme in the primary emphasizes on the activity based teaching and makes the classroom living, enjoyable, meaningful, effective and innovative. The fortnightly screening of the film shows breaks the monotony, inculcates values like team spirit, cooperation, patience etc. It enhances the thinking and reasoning skills. Its main aim is to help in the holistic development of a child, to perfection in body, mind and spirit. Reading habits is developed among the students through the class library. To develop the constructive attitude, enrichment of the vocabulary, enhancing the students imaginative, creative and thinking skills various activities such as poem recitation, quiz, storytelling, news reading, etc. competitions were conducted. Music &Art education play an important role in the growth of the personality of a learner at all stages of development. The global language English is given due importance by conducting various activities such as skit, extempore, etc. The teaching learning materials are displayed on the class display boards and are evaluated from time to time. The C.M.P. also lays emphasis on active participation of parents for the educational growth of the children. It is rightly said: Everything comes to us that belong to us if we create the capacity to receive it. We as a team strive hard to accomplish the objectives of KVS in building future citizens and the nation. I take this opportunity to express my reverences to the principal Shri S V Joglekar for his constant guidance and support. Morning Assembly Morning assembly reflects school activities and programmes and focuses on cocurricular life. It is conducted with complete and active participation of students. It is used to develop a feeling of affiliation and unity among students and to enable the students to share their experiences, stories, anecdotes with others. It is to utilize to celebrate national festivals, religious festivals, birthdays of great leaders. It is to provide moral and spiritual development of students. It develops national integration and secularism amongst the students.

SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAMME The SRP was planned as per KVS guidelines day wise, period wise.the school celebrated the PRAVESH UTSAV of class I.A welcome function cum orientation programme for parents of class I was organized on 8/04/2015.The parents were made aware about functioning of KVS, SRP, Evaluation and Assessment techniques of class I. The function included distribution of text books to RTE children and sweets for all.

CUBS AND BULBUL ACTIVITIES IN the cubs and bulbul section of our Vidyalaya various activities are being conducted by the students under the supervision of the cub master and flock leaders. It is conducted on every Wednesday of the week. On this day cubs and bulbuls come to school in their respective uniform and activities like singing the prayer, ring song, formation of pow-wow ring and sixes song are taught to them. In this section clean line work has been done by the students in the school campus and their respective classes.the students have also given their contribution in the maintenance of the school garden.

CLASS LIBRARY Class library is available in each class under the class teacher observation. Library books are issued to all the class teachers and the books as well as reading cards are distributed to the children in the library period to read and enjoy the stories of their choice and instructed them to write book review in the class library notebook. Class room library serves as a source of place where students can develop their various skills such as reading, writing and listening. Teachers also issue books from school library to develop their professional skills. FILM REVIEW Film shows are organized for each class as per the guidelines given by KVS. Children Movies are purchased by the Vidyalaya from Children film society. Students are also asked to write film reviews.

CLUB REPORT We have four clubs in our Vidyalaya. Each club performs different activities to encourage and develop various skills amongst the children. The formed clubs plan many activities for the whole year 1. Language Club (English/Hindi) 2. Math s Club 3. Creative Club 4. Eco and Health Club.

HEALTH CHECK UP Personal Hygiene checkup is done by the class teachers every Monday. In this checkup class teachers check the nails, teeth and tongue, haircut and uniform of the children. A dental checkup was organized in the school on 09/09/2015, where a group of doctors visited and gave knowledgeable information to the children about oral and dental care. They also answered the queries asked by the children.

CLASS ACTIVITIES AND PROJECTS

ART CORNER

Sports Activity An annual plan for games and sports is made and followed in true spirit. Yoga A healthy mind lives in a healthy body. It is beneficial for students as it enhances the concentration of the children.

CCA Report Under CCA various activities have been organized in the primary section from the April month till November. The various activities that had been held for the students of primary section are as follows:- Student Council Formation House Meeting Rapid Reading in Hindi Memory Test Competition Spelling Test Competition Drawing and Coloring Competition Inter House Display Board Competition English Calligraphy Hindi Calligraphy Rakhi Making Competition CMP Song Competition Hindi Poem Recitation Group Dance Competition Student s participated in all these competitions and secured different positions. The badges of different houses were distributed to the respective house captains after the formation of the student council of the respective houses. The list of house masters and associate masters has been prepared and allotted to them. All the students of different houses have performed well in all the competition under the supervision of their class teachers.

Examination Report For the classes I to V, we are following CCE pattern. Under this for classes I to II no formal exam is taken. We are evaluating the students on the basis of their classroom performance and eight cycles of worksheet are taken. For classes III to V four formative tests and two summative tests are scheduled. There is a pen paper test in FA1 and FA3is pen paper test while FA2 and FA4 are evaluated on the basis of various activities which are placed under various areas of evaluation. Both SA1 and SA2 are pen paper tests. SA1 has been completed and slow learners have been identified on the basis of specific areas of their weaknesses. Strategies for the improvement of slow learners have been planned by the teachers and they are implementing it accordingly.

PARENTS -TEACHER MEETINGS A child is an asset of the parent as well as the school, therefore regular PTM are organized in the Vidyalaya for the betterment of the students with the cooperation of parents. PTM for class I parents was called on 28/07/2015.The parents were made aware of the Exam pattern followed by KVS.A general discussion was organized where suggestions were invited by the parents. PTM for classes III to V was organized on 22/8/2015.FA1 and SA1 answer sheets were shown to the parents and performance of the child was discussed

CELEBRATION OF IMPORTANT DAYS We celebrate the important days and give information related to it through morning assembly, which is always a pleasurable experience for teachers and the students.

Saturday workshops We organize various workshops on Saturdays under the guidance of our principal sir for professional growth of teachers.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHERS Maximum primary teachers of our Vidyalaya completed the CPPDPT course (certificate programme for professional development of primary teachers) from IGNOU.
