As we move into the weekend we welcome the start of Catholic Schools Week on Sunday, January 27th. The students from St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School will be speaking at the Masses at St. Thomas Aquinas this year and we will welcome Lansing Catholic Students at St. John Church and Student Center. As we join together in celebration of Catholic Schools Week on Monday, we welcome you to join us for the many activities we have planned for the week ahead. Please know on Monday we welcome our students to wear community spirit gear (STA, MSU, LCHS, East Lansing, etc.) with modest or loose casual bottoms. Please note that students may not wear yoga pants or pants that are tight fitting without a shirt, dress, or tunic that is at least fingertip/midthigh length. Additionally if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the office for clarification on dress code or length of clothing. As you plan for the week ahead, I have included our Catholic Schools Week agenda which can be found by clicking on the image above. On the agenda you will find our activities for the day, as well as the dress code for students each day. If you have any questions about the service projects, activities, or dress code again, please do not hesitate to reach out for clarification. I am hopeful that as we close Catholic Schools Week that you will consider joining us for adoration and the Divine Mercy Chaplet on Friday, February 1st beginning at 2 p.m. in the main sanctuary at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. The week ahead will hold many wonderful memories for our students and I thank you in advance for your support. We look forward to sharing in the joy of Catholic Schools during this exciting week of celebration! CSW VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! As we prepare to celebrate our students on Wednesday and our staff and faculty on Thursday, we are in need of several more parent volunteers to help with lunch and recess duty these days. On Wednesday, Mrs. Robin Celeski is seeking parents who can
assist before, during, and after our student appreciation lunch to ensure our students have fun and are safe during this exciting time. Additionally our students will receive an additional 10 minutes of recess on Thursday, January 31st so our staff members can enjoy an extended lunch period. We are in need a two to three more parents who will assist us with recess so our teachers and staff can comfortably enjoy their time, knowing that their students are safe and secure. If you are able to help on either Wednesday or Thursday, please reach out to Mrs. Krusky or Mrs. Wilcox so we can plan according. We thank you in advance for your time and helping us to celebrate our students and staff during the week ahead! One Child, One Day, the Whole School - Auction with a Twist - The student who was the winning bidder at Auction with a Twist, has chosen their day off of school. We will be closed the Monday following the Super Bowl - Monday, February 4th. FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment will be conducting the financial need analysis for St. Thomas Aquinas Parish School for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. Families applying for financial aid will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documentation to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment by March 1. Applicants can apply online by clicking the image above or the FACTS link on our website. Once an online application has been completed online, the following information will need to be sent to FACTS to complete the application process: copies of your most recent Federal tax forms including all supporting tax schedules and W2 s and copies of supporting documentation for Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers Compensation, and TANF. She is seeking to recruit former high school contact sport athletes (i.e., football, wrestling, ice hockey, basketball), aged 30-40 years old, to participate in her study. If you are interested and willing to participate, the former high school athletes would come to the Sports Injury Research Lab on MSU campus and complete a demographics survey, play computerized games, perform a walking task, and complete a survey about health related quality
of life. The session will take less than 2 hours and participants will be compensated $20 for their time and participation. LCHS Tuition & Financial Aid Meetings - Jan. 30, 2019 at 6pm - Tuition and financial aid meetings for Lansing Catholic High School s 2019-2020 school year will be held on January 30, 2019 at 6pm in LCHS s library. Any family (current or incoming) with tuition and financial aid questions are welcome to attend either of these meetings. LCHS s Tuition Advisor Renee Fischman will review the financial aid application process for the 2019-2020 school year and answer any questions families have about tuition or assistance. This meeting in not mandatory, but is a great opportunity to ask questions and walk through the financial aid process. (March 1, 2019 is the deadline for families to apply to be eligible for the maximum number of financial assistance opportunities at LCHS.)
