Some of their many features replicate mobile phones, particularly in terms of their texting and messaging capabilities. Please be advised that, with regard to their shared or traditional mobile phone functions, our guidance and expectations concerning the use of Smart watches will mirror our policy on mobile phones. PARENTAL FORUM The minutes of our latest Parental Forum Meeting held on 9 December 2015 are now posted on our website. This was a very productive meeting and is an excellent way for parents to influence (and/or understand more fully) various school systems. Thank you very much to all the parents who attended. It would be great to see even more people at our next meeting which will take place later this term. Date to be confirmed. YEAR 8 PARENTS EVENING ~ MONDAY 18 JANUARY 4.15PM ONWARDS The Year 8 Parents Evening will be held on Monday 18 January from 4.15pm - 7.00 pm on the Lower School Site. It is always very heartening to see the large percentage of parents who are able to attend the evening and support the education of their children. The aim of the evening is to give parents the opportunity to have a brief meeting with the individual subject teachers to discuss progress. Please fill in the reply slip and return it to school, so that we know letters have reached home and we can accommodate numbers visiting the school that day. Students are currently in the process of arranging appointments on your behalf. We look forward to seeing you on the evening. SCHOOL INFORMATION ALL SAINTS HCPT GROUP 726 We, the All Saints HCPT Group 726, are once again heading for Lourdes in France at Easter to support disabled/disadvantaged children on their annual pilgrimage. This year, there are 12 Sixth Form students giving their time to support this worthy cause, a significant increase on the numbers who have travelled over the last 2 years. They have been enthusiastically raising money to pay for their own fares, the most recent activity being that of entertaining Christmas shoppers in York with their carol singing during the Christmas holidays, as well as bake sales, and a Grand Christmas raffle. HPV vaccination The next HPV vaccination day in school will be Wednesday 27th January. This will be the second dose for Year 9 girls, as well as catch up for anyone who has missed a dose. For more information please ring the School Health Service on 01904 725337 Alternative Curriculum Day Thursday 14 January Thursday is our next alternative curriculum day. During the day: Year 7 students will participate in an enterprise event in the morning, then the Fire Brigade will be speaking to them about risks. Year 8 students are taking part in the NHS careers competition and then a session in the afternoon understanding the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Year 9 students have a healthy living day including kick boxing - so please remember PE kits. Year 10 students have a Careers Event. Year 11 students have their Sixth Form Taster Day. LOTS GOING ON! SIXTH FORM ID CARDS ONLY As a security and safeguarding measure we are issuing all Sixth Form Students with a Photo ID and lanyard which they are to wear whilst at school at all times. This will enable staff on both sites to immediately identify a student as a member of our school community or challenge an intruder. The card will also double up as an exam ID card and will display their candidate number. Should students forget to wear it they will need to collect a temporary replacement for the day from the Main Office. If it is lost we intend to charge a small replacement fee.
