DIRECTOR S ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2015-2016 It has been a wonderful year at Arogyavaram Medical Centre as we continue to serve the people of this area, with God s love in compassionate action. God has been with us in all our activities throughout this year. We thank and praise God for all the great things that he has done in Arogyavaram, enabling us to proclaim the Kingdom of God through Healing Ministry at our Institution. In the month of May 2015 there has been a heavy storm in the Campus, many green trees have fallen and some of them have fallen on the houses and caused severe damage to the Staff quarters. Global Achiever Award 2015 was awarded by Nexus EclatHonoursSociety Hyderabad to Dr. B. Wesley on 24 th May 2015 honoring his contributions and achievements.
All the Staff and Students are actively participated in the Anniversary celebrations in the month of July 2015. Inter-house competitions in Music, Drama and Sports and Games were held for all the Staff and Students. A thanksgiving service was held on 18 th July in which the Bishop s Commissary and Vice-President of Rayalaseema Diocese Rev. I.M.N. Jyothi delivered God s Message. A Tree planting ceremony was held and 104 plants were planted in the Campus.
On 21 st July 2015 a Lamp lighting Ceremony was held for 2014-2015 batch of the G.N.M. and B.Sc. (N) Students. Myself and Mrs. Christina Johnson attended a Workshop on Tuberculosis organized by Christian Coalition of Health at New Delhi on 8 th August. We have also presented a paper on Tuberculosis and Research work at AMC. Independence Day was celebrated on 15 th August. Various activities have taken place on that day.
In the month of September Dr. Mathew Koshy the Director of the Department of Ecological Concern s CSI Synod organized Earth Bible Sermon Workshop on 24th at AMC and on 25 th at Horsely Hills. Clergy from all the Dioceses of Church of South India participated. Our Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. B.D. PrasadaRao and Rev. Dr. VasanthRao were the Resource persons.
In the month of October two Retreats were held for the Staff at Horsely Hills. All the Staff Members actively participated and prayed for various concerns of the Institution. At this time the idea of building a Retreat Centre at Horsely Hills and to start a Medical College in AMC Campus was discussed and all the Staff Members unanimously agreed to raise funds for the construction of a Conference Hall and three Cottages in the existing Campus at Horsely Hills. We have attended the Biennial Conference of the Christian Medical Association of India at Jaipur on 26 th to 28 th of November and presented a paper on the variousactivities of our Institution. The Doctors Section of Christian Medical Association of India elected me as the Chairman for the biennium.
Unusually in the month of November there has been a continuous pouring of rains for nearly 25 days and this has caused damage and leaking of all the Staff Quarters,Wards and Administrative block. We have planned to revive the Departments of ENT, Opthalmology and Orthopedics in 2016. are also going to start the following Short-term Courses for 10 th class Students. 1. General Duty Assistant 2. Medical Laboratory Technician 3. Diabetes Educator 4. Vision Technician The Christian Medical Association of India and Health Care Sector Skill Council Govt. of India recognized our Institution to start these Courses. God has blessed us abundantly throughout this year and various departments progressed in serving the sick and suffering people. The strength in our U.M.T.S Schools is increased this year and new teachers are appointed. The Deaf & Dumb Children are integrated into the normal school and they are enjoying the campus life. We are glad to note that two Deaf and Dumb children passed X class examination in our Telugu Medium School. The compassion projects atarogyavaram&jammalamadugu are doing excellent work. We have taken 125 more new admissions sponsored by Compassion into IN431 Student Centre this year. We We are glad to report that our students from English Medium School participated in and District Level Football teams. State On December 1 st 2015 World AIDS Day was celebrated and all the student Nurses went on a Rally to the surrounding villages creating awareness about HIV/AIDS.
We have also held a Carnival at AMC on 3 rd December to raise Funds for the Retreat Centre. We have sent a Team (Dr. Richard Stephen Wesley, Dr. Krupa Richard Stephen Wesley, Mrs. Alice Rani and Ms. Nisha George) for the Flood Relief camp to Cuddalore for 3 days 21,22 nd & 23 rd of December 2015 organized by Christian Medical Association of India. Christmas was celebrated in the Campus throughoutdecember with various activities related to the advent season.
Christmas gifts were distributed to the Staff and Students Healing Ministry week was celebrated in the second week of February 2016. The Theme for this year is Compassionate Care Towards Mental Health. Every day we conducted prayer in different localities of the Hospital Campus.
ENT &Orthopedic Camps were conducted Visited the sick & suffering and prayed for them Dr. B. Wesley and the Staff visited the Prison in Madanapalli. Mrs. Sheela Wesley shared the word of God to the Prisoners (both men and women).
AMC Choir sang meaningful songs. Fruits and Bibles were distributed for all the Prisoners. On CMAI Day of Prayer after the Morning devotion a foundation stone was laid by Mr. Paulraj for re-building of 3 rd Gate and Compound wall. Retreat with Staff & Children School for Deaf & Dumb
The Healing Ministry Week celebrations are closed with meaningful prayers by all the Staff and Students of Arogyavaram Medical Centre. We have celebrated World TB Day in a grand scale on 24 th March 2016. The Director Dr. B. Wesley and the Bishop of CSI Rayalaseema DioceseRt. Rev. B.D. PrasadaRao along with other Doctors of the Medical Centre, Dr. R. MuralimohanRao, Dr. Richard Stephen, Dr. Deva Krupa Richard, Dr. Pradeep, Dr. Sruthi and Dr. M. Divvya participated in the rally in and around of Arogyavaram Medical Centre and other surrounding villages. Later a Public Meeting was held in our Recreation Hall. Bishop CSI RD Rt. Rev. Dr. B.D. PrasadaRao, Dr. Jacob John from Vellore, Dr. B. Ramesh Naik, Deputy DM & HO, Sri K. Siva Prasad, Chairman, Madanpalle Municipal Corporation, Sri Bhavani Prasad, Vice Chairman, Madanapalle Municipal Corporation, were felicitated.
Dr. Jacob John, Eminent Scientist and Virologist and also Advisor to WHO for the control of Infectious Diseases, who is involved in the Global Tb Control Programme was the Chief Guest for the same and he has launched the TB Free MadanpalleProgramme. Dr. Ramesh Naik, Deputy DM & HO, Madanpalle has presented an Appreciation Certificate to Dr. B. Wesley for his Noble Gesture in Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP).
The Deputy DM & HO has also presented an appreciation certificate to The Government appointed Lab Technician Mrs. GnanaThilagam. In the month of July 2016 we have celebrated the 104 th Anniversary celebrations. All the Staff and Students actively participated competitions like Inter-house music, drama, sports & games.
The Christian Medical Association of India organized a Workshop for Allied Health Professionals in Arogyavaram Medical Centre on 21.09.2016 We have revived Eye & ENT department and free camps were organised in Kokkanti High School Campus Ananthapur District on 12.06.2016 and Sanipai Zilla Parishath High School, Ontillu, Kadapa District on 11.09.2016.
I have attended the ICMDA (International Conference for Medical & Dental Association) in Kolkata from 27 th to 30 th October 2016. We are indeed thankful to our Lord and Savior for His Divine presence in all our activities. We also thank our Bishop for his guidance and encouragement as we go ahead with the challenging of reflecting Healing Ministry in these parts of our Country. task Praise be to God Dr. B. Wesley, Director A certificate of Appreciation is awarded to Arogyavaram Medical Centre for the Voluntary Assistance in conducting FIRST AID awareness training program to Community Police Officers in Chittoor District.The Certificate is presented by the Honourable Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 24 th January 2017.
