We have so much to celebrate and so much to look forward to. Our Battle of the Books team will battle it out against other elementary schools on May 8 th using their knowledge of great reads. We also want to celebrate several of our students for setting goals, working hard, and achieving them: Paolo Passalacqua for representing JCE in this year s district speech contest. JCE continues with our traditional events this month with the Variety Show May 2 nd @ 6:30 and Evening of Fine Arts & Parent Book Fair Night May 8 th @ 6:30. These are both amazing events showcasing our students artistic talents. During the last week of school, our 5 th grade class will visit Universal Studios, sign yearbooks, walk at their promotion ceremony, and finally walk the Jaguar halls for the very last time while the entire school cheers for them and wishes them well. We will miss them very much. This has been a fantastic year full of celebrations, academic growth, and strong traditions. Summer Band Camp Opportunity: All current 3 rd, 4 th, and 5 th graders who are planning on participating in Beginning Band next year either at JCE or Fruit Cove Middle School, can participate in Mr. Izzy s Sumer Band Camp held at Fruit Cove Middle School from June 4 th 7 th! If interested your child may get a flier from Mrs. Isabelle. JCES Events and News JCE is trying to create a STEM lab for next school year and is asking for donations of used Legos! Legos will be used for engineering projects in the STEM lab. Donations can be dropped off in the JCE front office. Thank you!! Yearbook Sales have concluded. Thank you to everyone who ordered one. Yearbooks will be delivered the week of May 14 th. Summer Camps BeaTPAC Performing Arts Camp 2018: Under the Big Top June 18th-22nd, 25th-29th At Creekside High School Registration is now open at Beatpac.com. Space is limited so sign up today! SPMS BASKETBALL CAMP Switzerland Point Middle School will be hosting its Annual Summer Basketball Camp for boys & girls ages 6 14. The camp will have three one week sessions June 4 June 29, 2018. This is a fun filled camp where Teaching Never Stops. Don t be left out of this year s camp because the camp fills up fast. FREE Asthma Workshop being offered by the Community Asthma Partnership/Wolfson Children s Hospital. Workshops are being offered throughout April, May and June to educate families on how to effectively manage their child s asthma. Evening and morning sessions are available. Call (904)202-5132 for location information and to RSVP. Clinic News End-of-School-Year Clinic Request: All m edications should be picked up from the clinic by noon on Friday, May 25th. School policy does not allow for medication to remain in the school over the summer. It is important that you make arrangements to pick up your child s medication since medications may not go home with the student. Any medication left in the clinic after Friday, May 25th will be discarded according to policy. 2018-2019 School Year: For your convenience, the clinic w ill be open beginning Wednesday, August 8th to accept your child s medication and completed medication forms. Please see the school website for links to the required medication forms.
