Parents will receive the link next Wednesday, it is suggested parents download and save a copy of the report/s as the emailed link will expire after Week 2 of Term 3. Please ensure that your email address is up to date as this will be the address the report link will be sent to. Please update your details with the school office if required. If you have any queries about this process please contact the school office. STAFF CAR PARK Over the past few days there have been a couple of near misses with parents using the staff car park both before and after school. I am asking all parents to therefore not use this area for dropoff and pickup each day. The staff car park can be a very busy place with not only staff cars but also contractors and other school visitors moving in and out of this area. While I recognise that parking can be difficult at the beginning and end of school days, it is student safety that must be paramount. Parents cooperation with this request would be appreciated. SOCIAL DANCE The social dance program run this term is coming to an end and will culminate in performances for parents next Tuesday. Our PrePrimary, Year 1 and Year 2 students will be involved in displays at school. Todd will put our junior students through their paces during their normal lesson times. Parents are most welcome to come along and join in the fun. In the evening our students from Years 36 will be showing off their latest moves at the Greenwood College gym. This is always a terrific night for our senior students and I look forward to another great turnout of parents and students to this event. The evening commences at 6:30pm and will finish at approximately 8:30pm. P&C MEETING On Tuesday evening there were a number of items discussed. One of the key items on the agenda was to identify and allocate funds raised towards various school initiatives. I am pleased to say that the following areas have been approved for funding Renewal of student bench cushions for assemblies: purchase of an electric stove for the science lab;

purchase of an eboard for the science lab; allocation of $100 per classroom to purchase additional equipment/ resources; two large outdoor chess sets for the chess club. This represents more than $11 000 in funding support for students and our school. I would like to thank the P&C and Dalmain Primary School community for their support which continues to make such an important difference to our students and school. SCHOOL BOARD MEETING Members of the school board will be meeting this evening from 6:30pm in the staffroom. LOTE ASSEMBLY Parents please note that there will not be an assembly next Thursday. At these meetings we discuss a range of student matters, information and events. At a recent meeting we agreed to hold a joint parent workshop for parents across all four schools on the topic of Bullying. Details of the proposed workshop are as follows: Thursday 2 August 6:30pm to 8:00pm Venue to be confirmed based on numbers This is a FREE event The expert speaker booked for this topic is Erin Erceg. Erin is an internationally recognised researcher and author on this topic. In order to gauge parent interest in this event and book a suitable venue, we have set up a simple online expression of interest for you to complete. We will leave this registration open for a three week period, before making any further decisions on the workshop. Assuming there is sufficient enough interest to make the workshop viable, parents will then be notified of the final venue.
