Christmas Concerts Details of our Christmas Concerts have now been sent out to parents and carers. Year 1, 2 & 4 Christmas Concert Tuesday 12 th December 9.10am & 2.15pm If you require 1 or 2 tickets, please return your slip as soon as possible and tickets will soon be sent home with your child. If you require more than 2 tickets, please indicate this on the form and these will be allocated fairly, according to space available. Reception Christmas Concert Friday 15 th December 9.10am If your child is in Reception, please complete and return the form to let us know if you will be attending, although no tickets will be issued for the Reception concert. - Nursery Christmas Concert Monday 18 th December 11.15am & 2.45pm If your child is in Nursery, no reply slip needs to be returned. Thank you. Christmas Cards The main school and nursery post boxes will be out from Wednesday 13th December. Children should not bring their Christmas cards to school until this date. The envelope needs :- First name, last name and class. Class lists are available from the Office if this would help your child to write their cards. Christmas Parties During the last week of term all children in the school and nursery will enjoy a Christmas party with their class and year group. Next week the class teacher will send you a letter requesting a specific food contribution for the party in their class. Please note which item has been requested from your family and, if you are able to contribute, give items to your child s class teacher either the day before or on the morning of their party. Years 1 to 6 parties are taking place on Monday 18 th December and Reception & Nursery parties are taking place on Tuesday 19 th December. Singing in Church Children in Years 3, 5 and 6 will be walking to St Edmunds Church in Chingford on the morning of Tuesday 19 th December for our annual Christmas Assembly, which will kindly be led by one of our School Governors Reverend Lesley Goldsmith. Thank you to Year 3, 5 and 6 parents and carers for giving permission for this on the on-going local trips for the year letter sent out earlier in the term. Please see a member of the Office staff if your child cannot attend this trip. Clubs final dates Clubs have now finished for the Autumn term. This includes squad football club on Thursday mornings. Saturday School will finish tomorrow, 2nd December 2017 DebateMate will finish on Wednesday 13th December. Please note when we return in the Spring term, DebateMate will take place on Monday afternoons, commencing Monday 8th January 2018. Third Space Learning and Reading boosters will finish on Thursday 14th December. O2 choir practice finishes on Tuesday 12th December.

Breakfast Club will continue until the end of term. YMCA teatime club will continue until Tuesday 19th December. Swimming Lessons Swimming lessons have now finished. Lessons for 5TB and 5IH will continue with their lessons for the first half of the Spring term and the first lesson will take place on Friday 12th January 2018. Music lessons The final Guitar lesson will take place on Wednesday 6th December and will resume on Wednesday 10th January The final Violin lessons will take place on Monday 11th December and will resume on Monday 8th January The final Woodwind lessons will take place on Monday 11th December and will resume on Monday 8th January. Attendance: 20th Nov 24th Nov 2017 Congratulations to the following classes for achieving the highest attendance percentage in their Year Groups. Special congratulations go to class 1AK and class 6JW for achieving 100%. During the above period our overall school attendance for week commencing 20 th November dipped slightly to 95.8%. Standby Midday Assistants We are looking for new stand-by midday assistants to join our much valued and hard working group of Midday Assistants. The role can be very rewarding, supervising the children at lunchtime in the canteen and playground. The role will cover sickness and emergency situations and may also lead to more regular work to cover other members of staff in the short and long term. The hourly rate of pay is 9.62 and the role may suit somebody who is keen to earn some extra money without a long term commitment or regular hours. If you are interested, please collect an application form from the front office. Completed application forms must be returned to Mrs Lennard in the School Office. The closing date for applications will be Friday 8th December and interviews will be conducted as soon as possible. The school is committed to safer recruitment practice and preemployment checks will be undertaken before any employment is confirmed. The post is subject to enhanced criminal records bureau disclosure, so you must be willing to be DBS checked. Year 1 topic homework On Monday 4th November, Year 1 will be displaying their topic homework in their classrooms from 8.30am. Parents are asked to enter the school via the school office please at that time. Thank you. Donations to the recent Children in Need cake sale This is a polite reminder that the office still has many of the plastic containers and boxes that contained the cakes for the recent Children in Need cake sale. Please visit the school office to collect your containers, which will be disposed of after Wednesday 6th December. Thank you.

Green Team helping the community Our Green Team work hard behind the scenes, ensuring we all make the right choices to protect our environment and look after the community in which we live. They recently hosted an assembly to spread their messages and some of the children have written up their own accounts, which are displayed on the website under News and Events then Latest News. Stay and Play sessions The final stay and play session will be Monday 11th December and will recommence on Monday 8th January. Thank you. Netball at Rushcroft On Monday, several Year 3 and 4 children will be competing in a netball tournament at Rushcroft School. We wish them well. South Chingford Carol Service South Chingford Carol Service Love South Chingford group invite you all to join their carol service at 4.30pm on Saturday 2nd December. Meet by the new lit up Christmas Tree in Albert Crescent (near KFC). Please feel free to bring a hand-crafted tree decoration or a letter to Santa to hang on our community tree. Some staff from Chase Lane Primary School and Nursery Unit will be going along, so please join us! Friends of Chase Lane Only 2 more sleeps until our annual Christmas Wonderland at Chase Lane School! Please come and support the school on Sunday 3rd December from midday until 3.30pm.
