August 5-8th in Yakima/Tieton WA. WE ADVOCATE FOR YOU Is your administrator trying to get ROTC to count as an art credit? Did your students just lose opportunities for art classes in the new schedule? These are real world scenarios that WAEA helped advocate against on behalf of art teachers this year. There is nothing quite like a phone call and letter from the Washington Art Education Association making it clear that we will do everything in our power to support art education in our schools to make administrators think twice about their choices. We are here to support you and prevent any undermining of art education in Washington s schools. WE ARE THERE FOR YOU This year there was a school shooting in one of our small Washington towns. The WAEA was able to collect a contribution for a $500 gift card from Dick Blick to help this school s art teacher provide meaningful art experiences to his students in the wake of this tragedy. THINK THERE IS SOMETHING WAEA CAN DO BETTER? JOIN US! WAEA is a group of fun-loving art educators working together to support the art education community.
