Sir/Madam, Your attention is invited towards the KVS admission guidelines 2018-19 Part-B-Special Provision-Para l(vi) wherein there is a provision to admit meritorious sports children who have secured I, II & III positron in SGFI/CBSE/National/State level Games organized by the Government. It has been observed that this provision is not given due importance due to lack of publicity/awareness about this provision. You are, therefore, requested to instruct all the Principals of your Region to give wide publicity of this provision to attract sports talent towards the Kendriaya Vidyalayas. For this purpose the website of Regional Offices and Kendriya Vidyalayas may be used. Principals may also be asked to approach Sports Academies /SAI Sports Centre/ Sports Training Centre etc. located in nearby areas in order to identify such talents. The following points should be kept in mind while granting admission under this provision:- The child should be otherwise eligible as per the admission guideline 2018-19 These admission will be done over and above the prescribed class strength. Admission should be granted in the Sports discipline(s) being followed in Kendirya Vidyaiayas and the child should fulfil the eligibility criteria. The details of the sports discipline(s) and the criteria is given in the enclosed Annexure -A. All the Sports Certificates/ documents must be verified with the originals by the concerned Vidyalaya before granting admission. An undertaking should be taken from the Parents/ Guardians of the child to be admitted under sports quota to the effect that child will continue to practice and participate m the sports discipline(s) in which he has been admitted. The format of the undertaking is given in the enclosed Annexure-B. A consolidated report of the admission made under this provision of the Region should be submitted to this office on or before 10th of May 2018 in the format given as Annexure-C.
