Arya Vidyapeeth College, a premier institution of higher education in North East India was established in 1958 to disseminate knowledge among the underprivileged people of Guwahati. Arya pita Giridhar Sarma, a visionary par excellence, was of the firm belief that education is the only panacea that could bring about real transformation to society: from darkness to light {Tamasho ma Jyotirgamaya). Keeping the stated vision in mind, he conceptualized a chain of educational institutions right from the primary level to the post graduate level in a single campus. His relentless efforts towards realizing his dream is materialized in the form of Arya Pathshala, Arya Vidyapeeth H.S & M. P. School and Arya Vidyapeeth College. Today, as Arya Vidyapeeth College completes 60 glorious years, the stakeholders of the college have decided to celebrate the success story in a befitting manner to honour the great souls and well wishers who have contributed in making Arya Vidyapeeth College a throbbing center of excellence. A three-day colourful ceremony on 21, 22 and 23 September 2018 will finally bring down the curtains of the year-long Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.
