ALL SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS 2

Yearbook: ALL SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS The production of the Yearbook is underway and this year's theme is CELEBRATE! We at GWA have a lot to CELEBRATE; the 20th Year Anniversary, the opening of the brand new LMTC building, which brings with it opportunities for courses in Maker Space and Robotics. As well, the book will be featuring the most number of Clubs GWA has ever had, a little insight to new and returning Staff, and of course a whole section celebrating our new Graduates! One of the exciting new features in this year's book is a section showcasing the History of GWA: Past vs. Present. So c'mon CELEBRATE! with us this year by Pre-Ordering this limited edition. Pre-Sale begins April 30th for 350 dhs. After June 1st price goes up. Spring Festival: 3

Dear Parents/Guardians, LOWER SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS Spring is here (at least on the calendar!), and with this exciting season comes a variety of opportunities for our students to showcase their learning and development with you. Our third and fourth graders performed a beautiful concert last week, and our first and second graders will do the same on Thursday (29 March). Our fifth graders present their living wax museum on Thursday (29 March) and then move into an exciting season of 5th/6th grade transition activities. Our Nursery through fifth grade parents are invited to a Parent Night during the fourth quarter where students are excited to show you what they have learned throughout the year, particularly in language development. As we enter this busy time of year, and as our weeks tie together without frequent breaks it is important to stay engaged in your child's learning and development, and to do all you can to attend and participate in upcoming events. Please also join us in reminding your child(ren) regularly to put forth their best effort each day. We have much to accomplish each day as we work together to achieve our compelling vision: GWA inspires students to become multilingual, lifelong learners who pursue excellence, model integrity, and honor cultural diversity. We educate the whole person by equipping minds and building character, empowering students to serve Morocco and the global community with wisdom and compassion.. Best, Kevin Brenner Lower School Principal 4

Announcements: The Carnival is coming to town! LOWER SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS On March 29, GWA Lower School students will present a musical performance of Camille Saint- Saens' Carnival of the Animals. All students in 1st through 2nd Grade will be performing! Come and see the show! 1st and 2nd Grade: March 29 at 6:30pm The children will meet in their classrooms at 6:00pm. Parents, please watch for an announcement from your child's homeroom teacher for details! The 5th grade Living Wax Museum will be on Thursday, 29 March at 8:15am in the MPR. Parents who come to have lunch with their children can only buy lunch for their child and should sit at a different table from the class. If students plan to have a snack in the afternoon, they should bring it from home and not plan to buy it at school. Students are allowed to take Rallye de lecture tests in the morning with a pass from the teacher in MPR or with an adult before and after school. The third quarter ends on 11 April. Student-led conferences are on Wednesday, 18 April 2018 (there is no school that day). 5

LIBRARY Thank you for been part of our seminar we held on Tuesday, March 20th "Reading Pedagogy and Library Media Resources Made Easy". You were a great group and your enthusiasm and positive spirit helped make our time together very productive. Our primary goal was to share with you GWA Reading pedagogy and to increase your understanding of the Library's digital resources and the different ways you can use these tools to work along your children and support their learning at home. You are an important resource to your children and should therefore be engaged and informed just as much as your children are. We encourage you to use the library online resources we explored together during the seminar, and please contact me at arias@gwa.ac.ma should you need further information.
