We had about 30 volunteers help on the day which is a record in the many years that I have been here. Thank you also to Kim Martin, our P and C President, for her organisation and purchasing all of the sausages, drinks etc. Boccia Team Our school Boccia team will be playing at the Central Coast knockout at Henry Kendall High School on Wednesday June 13th. Boccia is a modified game for students with special needs and is very competitive. Our school team will be playing students that used to go to this school so it will be a lot of fun I am sure. I wish them the best of luck. Central Coast Dance Festival Our four dance groups had their Dress Rehearsal on Tuesday afternoon after many hours of practice and preparation. Thank you to our amazing staff that have prepared our students so well. I am very much looking forward to watching our students perform in a couple of weeks at Laycock St Theatre where I am sure they will make us all very proud, the dances that they are doing are outstanding. P & C The next meeting of the P & C will be held next Tuesday at 7.00pm in the staff room. Your attendance will be most welcomed. Athletics Carnival and Disco Just a couple of dates for your diary, this terms disco will be held on Wednesday 20 th of June and our Athletics Carnival will be held on Wednesday 27 th of June weather permitting. Further information will be provided closer to these dates Before School Just a reminder that the supervision of students does not begin at our school until 8:30am and students should not be at school prior to this time. Many of our students attend the local Before and After School care service and if you require more information about this service our office will give you their details. Graeme McLeod PRINCIPAL

SCHOOL NEWS AND EVENTS PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) For the last two weeks we have been discussing positive behaviours that we see in the toilet and bubbler areas. We show respect by considering each other s privacy. We make sure we are responsible by flushing the toilet and washing our hands. We ensure we are super learners by going to the toilet during break times. Over the next fortnight we will be discussing and practising our excellent behaviour the hall and during assemblies. At Gosford East Public School we are Respectful, Responsible Learners! GEPS World Cup-a-thon 2018! On Wednesday 4 th July 2018 (which is in the last week of this term), Gosford East will be holding a FUNtastic fundraiser! Our theme is the WORLD CUP which is not only being held in Russia but also at Gosford East! It will involve a super day of exciting activities. Students will be bringing home a note to explain this event and a Sponsorship Card. They have until the actual WORLD CUP-a-thon day to raise as much money as they can. There will major prizes for the highest fundraisers in each Stage and each child who raises any money, will go into the draw for some other great prizes. Our goal is to raise money for a shade cloth over our new playground area. Notes and sponsorship forms coming home at the end of this week! Thanks The World Cup-a-thon Committee (A Boyd)

SPORTING CHALLENGE All Gosford East Public School students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will begin the NSW Premier s Primary School Sport Challenge this week. It is a school-based challenge that aims to engage young people in sport and physical activity and encourages them to lead healthy, active lifestyles. Students participate in the 10 week challenge by accumulating time spent in a broad range of sports and recreational activities during lunchtimes, recess, school sport and P.E programs, class time, after school and weekend sports. Students who complete the challenge will receive a certificate. The school also receives funding towards purchasing new sports equipment if students are successful in completing their challenge. The exciting news about this year is there is also a staff challenge so you may see some very fit teachers out and about the playground throughout the term as they participate alongside the students. For further details please go to https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/psc/home.html
