Cap and Gown Caps and gowns will be distributed Wednesday, May 24 th from 3:00-6:00 PM in the Gym Lobby. If you still need to order graduation caps, gowns, tassels, announcements and name cards, please visit www.balfour.com. Cap and gown forms are also available in the main office. Please order ASAP! Prom Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 8:00 p.m. 11:00 p.m. - $50.00 per ticket The Prom, which will be held at the Hollywood Firehouse in Hollywood, MD on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 8:00 pm 11:00 pm., will be one of the highlights of your senior year. We want this to be a positive experience for all. Therefore, you must adhere to the following guidelines: 1. All students attending the Prom are under the jurisdiction of all school and county rules. These are clearly stated in the Calvert County Code of Student Conduct. 2. Upon arrival, you must remain inside the building until you are ready to depart. No one will be allowed to re-enter after leaving. 3. Anyone caught with, or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, etc., will be arrested and not permitted to participate in graduation exercise. 4. Only the purchaser of Prom tickets may use those tickets. Identification will be required at the Prom. 5. Pictures will be taken throughout the evening. 6. Contracts must be signed for any guests who are not students of HHS. No one over the age of 20 will be allowed to attend. 7. A student will receive one warning for inappropriate dancing. If the behavior persists, the student will be asked to leave the dance. Sexually suggestive dancing will not be tolerated. 8. The Prom is a formal affair; proper attire is expected. Senior Yearbooks Yearbooks will be arriving mid-may. Books are currently $90 and are selling fast! The only way to guarantee your yearbook is to order online at www.jostensyearbooks.com. Very few extra yearbooks will be ordered and the price will be raised. If you did not order one, you will have to wait until the first distribution day to purchase one and there are no guarantees there will be enough books for those who do not order online. Seniors only will be allowed to pick up or purchase books on the first day of distribution. Checks may be made out to HHS at that time. Senior Trip to Hershey Park Friday, June 2, 2017 This year s senior trip is to Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The more students, the merrier! The last comfy coach bus is almost full, so be sure to sign up ASAP so you don t miss out on this fun opportunity to hang out with your classmates before graduation! GRADUATION INFORMATION GRADUATION OVERVIEW Date: Thursday, June 8, 2017 Time: Location: 3:00 Processional Show Place Arena, Upper Marlboro, MD Arrival Time: 1:45p.m. (Graduates Only) GRADUATION PRACTICE Wednesday, June 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Fairgrounds in Prince Frederick. Any senior not attending this rehearsal will not participate in the graduation exercise on Thursday, June 8, 2017. Any senior who is late for practice will be placed at the end of the roll call for graduates and not in alphabetical order as it is intended to be. NOTIFICATION OF NON-GRADUATING SENIORS Any senior who will not be graduating due to course failures or not meeting the requirements for a Maryland High School Diploma will be notified by school administration as soon as possible after seniors last day of school. Those students will NOT attend graduation rehearsal, receive tickets, participate in the commencement program, or attend Project Graduation on June 8, 2017. Any senior who chooses not to participate in the graduation ceremony may receive his or her diploma from their respective counselor after June 8, 2016. Please call the guidance office to arrange pick up your diploma. GRADUATION ATTIRE Each student is responsible for obtaining and wearing dress clothes appropriate for the graduation ceremony: Dark Blue or Black Pants/Skirt White Dress Shirt and Tie/Blouse Solid Colored Dress Dark Dress Shoes Students must wear the designated cap and gown without personal ornamentation. In accordance with the Board of Education Procedures Regarding Graduation Exercises, the above attire is to be worn by all students electing to participate in the ceremony.

Graduation Tickets a. Each senior will receive 9 tickets for the graduation ceremony. These will be distributed to the seniors from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in the Auditorium/Gym Lobby. Tickets not picked up on Wednesday will be distributed after graduation practice. b. We realize that some families may require additional tickets, while other families may not need all 8 tickets. We encourage students to consult with their parents. If possible, share extra tickets with those who need more. Requests for extra tickets must be put in writing and given to Mrs. Grimes or emailed to grimesl@calvertnet.k12.md.us. NO PHONE REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. There is NO guarantee that extra tickets will be available. All requests must be made no later than Friday, May 19, 2017. Include the graduating senior's name with the request. c. No graduation tickets will be issued to any senior with financial obligations. All financial obligations must be paid by noon on May 19, 2017. d. No graduation tickets will be issued to any senior who has not met graduation requirements (state testing, service learning hours, CCPS attendance policy, 23 ½ credits) by the ticket distribution date. Parking at the Show Place Arena a. Parking is free for all students, parents, and guests. Handicapped parking is available on the North side of the Arena. b. Attendants will direct you where to park upon arrival. c. Please plan for possible traffic delays. Arriving early is better than missing your graduation. d. Carpooling is high recommended. Special Seating and/or Parking Requests for information about special seating or parking (disabled, hearing impaired, etc.) must be made directly to Mrs. Grimes at Huntingtown High School grimesl@calvertnet.k12.md.us. Please let Mrs. Grimes know this by Friday, May 19, 2017. Diploma Information DVD You will receive your own diploma cover during the commencement exercise. Your official diploma will be issued after the graduation program is completed, in the ramp area leading out of the Equestrian Center. Tables will be set up for distribution; students who have met all requirements will receive a diploma at that time. Any student not in compliance with graduation procedures must meet with Mr. Weber at a later date before he/she will receive his/her diploma or final transcript. A DVD of the entire graduation ceremony, including a close-up of you receiving you diploma, will be available. Order forms will be given to you at the time you pick-up your graduation tickets. Meeting Location for Guidance and Families We ask that all parents and friends of graduates wait outside the Show Place Arena on the South side of the Arena. The graduates, after receiving their diplomas, will exit through the doors at the northeast section of the building and proceed to the South side of the Arena.

Calvert County Public Schools Graduation Procedures Any student eligible for graduation from a county high school who chooses to participate in graduation exercises must conform to the rules and regulations established for these exercises. They include: 1. Each student is responsible for obtaining and wearing the proper attire in the manner prescribed. 2. Each student must have met all school obligations. Senior debts must be cleared by noon on Friday, May 19, 2017. Graduation tickets and diplomas will not be distributed to those with financial obligations. Students should see Ms. Meyer or Ms. DiToto in the finance office to take care of financial obligations. 3. No student under suspension or expulsion at the time of graduation exercises shall be allowed to participate. Policies and procedures are available in the Calvert County Code of Student Conduct. 4. Students must conduct themselves in a dignified manner appropriate for these exercises. 5. The student must participate in all scheduled practices unless otherwise approved by the principal or his/her designee. 6. All students remain under the jurisdiction of school rules and regulations through completion of all graduation exercises. 7. If a senior is involved in a student code of conduct violation that warrants a serious suspension, the student will be considered for non-participation in the graduation exercises. Project Graduation Dave & Buster s Huntingtown High School seniors will have the opportunity to spend their graduation evening participating in Project Graduation. This activity is intended to provide you with a safe and alcohol/drug free graduation celebration. This year we are scheduled to have a fun filled evening at the Dave & Buster s at Arundel Mills Mall. Detailed information about Project Graduation will be available in the near future. This activity is free to graduating seniors and we encourage you to attend. Project Graduation Sign-ups in May All persons attending are required to sign a drug and alcohol free contract. Arrive at HHS by 10:15; Leaving HHS at 10:30 p.m. June 8, 2017. Will return to HHS by 4:30 a.m. June 9, 2017.
