About SGCCC The South Georgia Classic Car Club was founded in April, 1984 as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the restoration, preservation, and enjoyment of special interest automobiles. December 4,2018 Meeting: Club President Geoff Hardy opened the December meeting at Austin s Cattle Company at 6:45 pm. The opening prayer was led by Steve Ward. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present. There were 33 members in attendance. As a token of appreciation, Dan Bremer presented outgoing President Geoff Hardy with a hand-made custom model of his beloved Chevy pick-up Minutes: The November minutes were read by club Secretary Bob Raffaele and were approved by those present. Treasurer s Report: Donna Roberson presented the November report and it was approved by those present. Old Business: Addressing concerns with lack of attendance at the recent Fall Classic Car Show, Logan contacted Valdosta Mall. He reported the mall was receptive and he would be conducting further talks with mall management. He also mentioned the advantages of having Premier Promotions put on the event like they do for the Albany Show. If we pursue this approach, the selling of event sponsorship becomes vital. George Hardy will chair this sponsorship group. New Business: A motion was made and passed authorizing the donation of $1,500 to the Sheriff s Youth Home Scholarship Fund. The presentation will take place at their Dec 20 th Christmas Dinner. Minutes SGCCC webmaster Sandi Foster has found a workable program at minimal cost. She needs photos and information on member vehicles Election of Officers: President Dan Bremer replaces Geoff Hardy 1 st VP David Boyd 2 nd VP Kyle Baker succeeds Wat Prettyman Secretary Bob Raffaele Treasurer Donna Roberson The January meeting date has been moved one week later to January 8 th. James Lee won the 50/50 and donated it back to the club. Meeting: adjourned at 8:05 pm Submitted by Bob Raffaele, club Secretary President s Report Dan Bremer Thank you for electing me as the 2019 President of the South Georgia Classic Car Club. It is an honor to serve and I absolutely look forward to the coming year. I believe that this is "your" club. We should do the things you want to do. I promise to seek out your agenda and your wishes. At the December meeting we formed a committee to lead the Super Cruise-In and the Fall Classic Car & Truck Show. George Hardy will lead the group and we will rely on that committee for guidance on our two most important events. However, every member can contribute to their efforts and be an important part of these activities. If we all work together, we can have fun, entertainment, friendship and still give excellent service to our community. Let me take this opportunity to thank outgoing President Geoff Hardy for the excellent leadership he has given the club for the past two years. He was always there for us at countless events, emails, planning sessions and whatever the club needed. Thank you Geoff for all your efforts. December seemed to be full of activities several parades (see picture from the Moody AFB Christmas Parade in this issue, thanks to Pat Tait and Ed Woodruff), several parties, including a great time at the Echols County Senior Center hosted by our new President and his wife Dan & Chris Bremer, the party hosted by Bob & Doreen Barrett at their home, and the great time we had with the youngsters at the Georgia Sheriff s Youth Home at their Christmas Dinner. Be sure to support out new administration as we move our club ahead in this new year. In addition to our new President, we have a new 2nd Vice President Kyle Baker, and a new Information Director Sandi Foster, along with members of the old guard 1st Vice President David Boyd, Secretary Bob Raffaele, and Treasurer Donna Roberson. Looking forward to seeing you at the club meeting on January 8 Second Tuesday this month! Happy Cruising! - David Boyd, editor
