Athletics and High Schools 2014-15 FPHS and WHS end the 2014-15 sports year with many accomplishments! FALL Cross Country Boys team won League Championship and entered District Tournament. Girls team also qualified to compete at the District Tournament. Stephan Hull named SPSL 2A Boys Athlete of the Year (two consecutive years). Patryce McWilliams named SPSL 2A Girl Athlete of the Year. Patryce McWilliams placed 17 th in State with a time of 19:27. As a team, Stephan Hull, Isaac Barrett, Zachary Lam, Brad Anderson, Sophirom Sou, and Rudu Wani, placed 8th in state! Boys Cross Country earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.40 (Varsity & JV). Girls Cross Country earned the WIAA Outstanding Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.63 (Varsity & JV). Caleb Foxx and Quentin Ellis qualified to compete at the District Tournament. The girls team also qualified to compete at the District Tournament. Both the boys and girls teams earned the Team Sportsmanship award (the boys team earned this award for the 4 th time over the past 5 th years). Boys Cross Country earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.22 (Varsity) and 3.36 (JV). Girls Cross Country earned the WIAA Outstanding Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.64 (Varsity) and the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.36 (JV). Football Won League Championship and entered District Tournament as the #1 seed. Freshman Alex Bing was selected as one of the Week 5 WIAA Athlete of the Week winners. Won the Helmet Bowl.

Golf Girls team finished 2 nd in League and competed in the District Tournament. Boys team finished 4 nd in League and competed in the District Tournament. Stormie Follen won the District Tournament by over 25 stokes, earning an automatic berth to the State Championships this spring. Marisol Diaz placed 11 th in Districts and qualified to golf in the spring tournament for a berth to State. Boys Golf earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.15 (Varsity) and 3.32 (JV). Girls Golf earned the WIAA Outstanding Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.58 (Varsity) and the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.13 (JV). Boys team finished 6 th in League. Reis Carter competed in the State-Qualifying Tournament. Girls Soccer Won League Championship and competed in the District Tournament. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.37 (Varsity) and 3.30 (JV). Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.48 (Varsity) and the WIAA Outstanding Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.52 (JV). Girls Swimming Team finished 3 rd in League. At the 2A Swim and Dive District Tournament, Paige Reed finished 11 th in diving and received a wild card, allowing her to move on to the State Championships. Earned the WIAA Outstanding Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.52. Team finished 3 rd in League. At the 2A Swim and Dive District Tournament, Lillian Kurzhal finished 6 th in the 50 free with a time of 26.16, and 5 th in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:03.93. Lillian competed in both events at the State Championships. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.36. 2 P a g e

Boys Tennis Alec Weil, Julian Chhouy, Keith Petitt, Nigel Dalton, Alex Tang, Christian Broussard and Doug Shumaker entered the District Tournament. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.25 (Varsity) and 3.08 (JV). Khoa Nguyen was named the SPSL 2A League MVP. Khoa was also the League Tournament Single Champion. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.15. Volleyball Won League Championship (the first time in 34 years!) and entered District Tournament as the #1 seed. Competed in the State Championship for the first team in program history. Lauren Baker, Gressa Eide and Malia Fakatoufifita each named SPSL 2A 1 st Team All-League. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.38 (Varsity), 3.30 (JV), and 3.07 (C). Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.27 (Varsity), 3.45 (JV), and 3.35 (C). WINTER Boys Basketball Team finished 2 nd in League and competed in the District Tournament. The team played in the WCDIII Championship game and came away with 2 nd place, scoring 67-65. The win gave a #2 seed going into the Regional competition. Girls Basketball Team finished 2 rd in League and competed in the District Tournament. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.25 (Varsity), 3.06 (JV), and 3.02 (C). Team finished 5 th in League and competed in the District Tournament. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.13 (Varsity). 3 P a g e

Boys Swimming Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.46. Team finished 10 th overall in the District Tournament. During the State Championships, the relay team of Jaycob Davies, Liam Sigman, Isaac Hinson, and Joey Hafner placed 20 th in the 200 Free with a time of 1:43.38, and 22 nd in the 400 Free with a best time of 3:49.65. Also during the State Championships, Jaycob Davies swam personal bests in both his events, swimming to a 5 th place finish in the 200 Free with a time of 1:46.70 and 4 th in the 500 Free with a time of 4:48.04. Jaycob has now placed at State each of his four years as a high school swimmer. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.02. Boys Wrestling Max Henry-Nelson placed 8 th in his weight class in the State Championship. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.47 (Varsity) and 3.18 (JV). Team finished 21 st in State Championships. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.37 (Varsity). Girls Wrestling Undefeated League Champions. Competed in Sub-Regional Tournament. Lynsie Lim and Isabelle Lueras both placed 4 th. Mackenzie Macoy, Alexis Tietz, Faith Ghramm, Patience Pruitt, and Malia Adams all placed 2 nd. Julia Sylstad took 1 st place. All 8 athletes competed at the Regional Tournament. Won the WIAA Winter Academic State Championship. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.21. Cheerleading Team finished 4 th in their division in the State Cheer Championship. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.45. Team finished 5 th in their division in the State Cheer Championship. 4 P a g e

SPRING Baseball Finished 5 th in League and competed in the District Tournament. Finished 6 th in the WCDIII Tournament, allowing them to compete at the State Tournament. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.03 (Varsity), 3.03 (JV), and 3.04 (C). Finished 4 th in League and competed in the District Tournament. Fastpitch Received the SPSL Sportsmanship Award. Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.28 (JV) and 3.00 (C). Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.17 (Varsity) and 3.24 (JV). Boys Soccer Finished 2 nd in League and competed in the District Tournament. Mitchell Balmer named SPSL 2A 1 st Team All-League. Girls Tennis In the League Tournament, Kristi Floyd and Lauren Baker finished 1 st Doubles. Caitrin McKenna and Emily Lewis finished 3 rd in Doubles. Also in Singles, Meraisha Larsen finished with a 3 rd seed for the District Tournament Team finished 6 th in the District Tournament. In the District Tournament, Kristi Floyd and Lauren Baker finished 5 th in Doubles. Kristi Floyd and Karli Floyd competed in Doubles in the State Championship. Earned the WIAA Outstanding Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.57 (Varsity) and 3.53 (JV). Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPA of 3.31 (C). Earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.44 (Varsity) and 3.09 (JV). 5 P a g e

State Track & Field As a team, the girls placed 31 st in state and the boys placed 19 th. Patryce McWilliams placed 3 rd in Girls 800 Meter Run and 13 th in Girls 1600 Meter Run. Jayden Dalton placed 10 th in Girls 100 High Hurdles (Prelims). MacKenzie Zulauf, Vanessa Shelton, Patryce McWilliams and Tashylah Combs placed 9 th in Girls 4x400 Meter Relay (Prelims). Lisa Sao placed 16 th in Girls Discus Throw. Stephan Hull placed 6 th in Boys 800 Meter Run and 6 th in Boys 1600 Meter Run. Hilton Starling, Willie Patterson, Ehrmann and Owen Smith placed 13 th in Boys 4x100 Meter Relay (Prelims). Brian Eaves, Tyrell Edge, Willie Patterson and Stephan Hull placed 9 th in Boys 4x400 Meter Relay (Prelims). Diondre Abbott placed 9 th in Boys Discus Throw. Denzel Jones placed 15 th in Boys Javelin Throw. Emmanuel Thornton placed 12 th in High Jump and 6 th in Long Jump. Owen Smith placed 6 th in Triple Jump. Girls Track & Field earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning team GPAs of 3.38 (Varsity) and 3.41 (JV). As a team, the boys placed 41 st in state. For the second consecutive year, the team received the SPSL Sportsmanship Award. Nehemiah Whiteside placed 13 th in Boys 100 Meter Dash. Clairriss Johnson, Auricia Johnson, Faith Miller and Tyra Cavalier placed 13 th in Girls 4x100 Meter Relay (Prelims). Alejandro Snead placed 7 th in Boys 400 Meter Dash. Kia Hoehn placed 16 th in Girls Long Jump. Girls Track & Field earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPAs of 3.19 (Varsity) and Boys Track & Field earned the WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Award for earning a team GPAs of 3.05 (Varsity). State Golf Stormie Follen placed 9 th in the State Tournament. State Boys Tennis Khoa Nguyen placed 9 th in Singles in the State Tournament. 6 P a g e
