Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (DJJS) A multi-faceted socio spiritual organisation run under the stewardship of His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj Ji aims to actualize the vision of Global Peace through Self Awakening. DJJS is working towards social reformation & welfare of communities, through its network of branches spread across the globe. On Social front, its primary focus remains on gender, health, education, environment, drug-abuse eradication, bovine conservation and empowernment of disabled & prisoners. OUR INSPIRATION Holistic Education epitomizes an internal evolution process enabling a child to know his own self and realize his latent potential... - His Holiness Ashutosh Maharaj ji

Manthan Sampoorna Vikas Kendra (SVK) The Holistic Education Program of DJJS PROBLEM Today, values in education system have seriously gone missing. Moreover, education is often limited to imparting skills for earning livelihood or sustaining life. On one hand, the public and higher education is so expensive that middle income group can t even imagine sending their children to those money demanding institutions. The worst part is that a large number of population under the age of 12 is still out of schools. AIM Manthan aims to bridge the gap by providing enrichment classes through supplementary schooling to the underprivileged children of remote villages and urban slums to strengthen their core educational foundation. OBJECTIVES: Equal and free education to under-privileged sections of society through focussed learning. Generating awareness about education among parents and community. Nurturing power of thinking in children. Making children learned and not just educated by inculcating moral values in them. Reducing the education gap between poor and rich. TOOLS Community mobilization and participation. Counselling of parents to impart education to their wards. Activity based teaching learning material Capacity building of women through adult literacy program. Vocational trainings. THEMATIC AREAS OF WORK Education for Underprivileged children Adult Education EXPECTED OUTCOME: Free and Equal education to all (Poor/ Rich) Equality of education among both genders Replenishment of Indian Value system Holistic development of children Reduced drop-out rate Enhancement in creative and vocational skills APPROACH Education at Manthan - SVKs is perceived as a comprehensive process that fosters overall development of a child. The approach followed is grounded in the principles of value based systems of education, which is a process to develop, nurture and enhance human beings with the sound power of discretion. This enables them to lead a righteous life. We focus on incorporating innovative learning methodologies by reinforcing holistic systems of education.

(MANTHAN-SVK STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN EVENTS) (GENERAL HEALTH CHECKUP)

Moral Sessions Education includes all-round development of children. So, we include sessions on moral values in our holistic education programme. The rich culture and heritage of our country is revealed through moral stories and interactive activities. At SVK, we held moral sessions and motivational workshops to make students realize their true potential enhance their hidden talents and make right choice in life. Through value education, we strive to develop the social, moral, aesthetic and spiritual sides of children, which are often undermined in formal education. Creative Skills Creative classes are organised to enhance their inner talents and creativity through visual arts activity like painting and performing arts like theatre, music, dance and dramatics. (IMPARTING VALUE EDUCATION) (ART WORKSHOP) (MUSIC WORKSHOP) (DANCE WORKSHOP) (DRAMATIC WORKSHOP)

Outdoor Activity SVK recognises the importance of holistic development that extends beyond the classrooms. It has been observed that low physical activity levels contribute to poor physical fitness and are associated with cardiovascular disease risk factors in children. The 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommends that children must engage in at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily. Physical activity has a positive effect on students health and academic outcomes. Therefore, our students are encouraged to pursue a wide range of sporting activities. They participate in various outdoor activities such as tag of war, lemon race, carom, soccer and others. Life Skill Workshops Life skill education is an important vehicle to equip young people to negotiate and mediate challenges and risks in their lives, and to enable productive participation in society. At SVKs, we provide life skill training and engage students in activities where they know how to manage their time effectively and how to enhance learning power. (STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN DIFFERENT GAMES) (LIFE SKILL WORKSHOPS AT DIFFERENT CENTRES)
