College of Commerce, Arts & Science, Patna Dated:Dec 3, 2018 Press Release: Sri Ravi Shankar Prasad to Inaugurate 7 th Bihar Science Conference 2018 College of Commerce, Arts & Science, Patna will host to scientist of National and International repute during 7 th Bihar Science Conference (BSC) 2018, An International Conference on Science & Technology between December 4 to December 6, 2018 in which more than 500 participants from different parts of India and abroad are expected to participate. The college is organizing this event jointly in association with BBrains Development Society commonly Known as BiharBrains. This was announced by Prof.(Dr.) Tapan Shandilya, principal of the college in a meeting held at College with a delegation of BBrains Development Society and its organizing committee members led by Bibhuti Bikramaditya, Global chairman of the society. B.Brains Development Society commonly known as BiharBrains is a nonprofit organization registered under society Act with special focus on awareness building on education and creating environment for research and development in Bihar. The society organizes Bihar Science Conference every year in association with different Colleges/ universities of Bihar to promote research in areas of science and technology in the state under guidance of 25 member global scientific council of the society. College of Commerce, Arts & Science, Patna, which is premiere constituent college of Bihar (NAAC Re-accredited Grade 'A' ) has accepted to host this year science conference. The conference is organized every year on the Pattern of Indian Science Congress since 2008. It was hosted by Patna Science College in 2008, College of commerce in 2009, Gaya College, Gaya in 2010 and LS College, Muzaffarpur in 2011, Sri Arvind Mahila College in 2013, Magadh Mahila College in 2014. After a gap of three years, the series of the conference is again started with new energy and vigor. This year Collge of Commerce, Arts and Science, Patna is going to host the conference. The main aim of this conference is to bring together experts from various fields to evaluate the existing information, to interpret the presented data, to discuss the suitable measures for clear and useful results and finally to explore if the collective efforts are promising to achieve favorable working environment for research and development in the state.
The focal theme of the conference is Science & Technology Quality Education, Research and Innovation for Sustainable Development. Sub themes are a. Ethical Issues and the use of anti-plagiarism for research integrity. b. Smart material for biomedical and industrial applications. c. Water Resource Management d. Impact of Industrialization on environment. e. Utilization of non-degradable waste f. 24x7 energy Scientific Council and Committees of 7 th Bihar Science Conference 2018 associated with various responsibilities and functions have started to plan the minutes/details in advance so that 7 th Bihar Science Conference is held with more success and grandeur. On this occasion, national and international Scientists, Research Fellows and Eminent Personality from different fields come to present and discuss their work. This three days conference is attended by huge number of college students and professional from various science and technology fields. Five Young Scientist Award for overall best performance and best poster and oral presentation award in each subject category will be given to the delegates. Society started Aryabhatta Samman Award for Scientific Excellence in 2014. The first award was given to Mars orbiter Mission and their team led by Mission Director Dr. Kesava Raju of ISRO. For this year, search committee will be formed for giving award to the distinguished scientist of India. This was informed by Bibhuti Bikramaditya, chairman of the society. This initiative is first of this kind in Bihar where around 1000 research Scientist, Professors, Students/budding scientists from difference universities of India and abroad are expected to participate & discuss about their outcome of scientific research/idea project.
