CREDIT FLEXIBILITY Ohio law (SB 311) and Brunswick Board of Education Policy, permits students to meet high school credit requirements in four ways. 1. Traditional Coursework 2. Test Out 3. COURSE LEVELS " Students capable of honors or advanced placement courses should sign up for these when completing the course selection sheet. Students can be moved to a lower level course within the first grading period providing one is available and they are academically misplaced. Changing placement from regular level to honors or AP after the beginning of the school year is not an option as the student has missed too much instruction and/or the appropriate summer work for the course.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION EXEMPTION There is a policy that permits students to be exempt from PE if they participate in a sport, cheerleading, dance, or marching band.

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY ATHLETIC/CO-CURRICULAR/EXTRA-CURRICULAR Students must have received passing grades in a minimum of five one-credit courses or the equivalent. COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS - CCP Any student interested in the CCP Program must circle 000008 on their Course Selection Sheet. Turn in Acknowledgement Form by April 1 st Submit application, transcripts request form, take placement test Some CCP courses will be offered in our building next year.

SCHEDULE CHANGE POLICY Schedule changes may be considered for the following reasons: Change necessitated by physical health of a student Completion of course in Summer School Changes necessitated by failures Mechanical error changes Subject-level changes if misplaced Classroom balancing

DROPPING A SUBJECT A student may withdraw from an elective course within the first two weeks without penalty, providing the student s course load does not fall below five credits for that year. If a course is dropped after the first two weeks, a grade of a F will be recorded.
