The meeting was called to order by the Chairperson, Mr. Goff, at 5:40 p.m. in the East Hampton High School office conference room. 2. Anticipated executive session in the Office Conference Room to discuss the update in Teacher negotiations. 2.2 Motion by Mr. Goff, seconded by Ms. Villa, to enter into executive session and invite Mr. Smith to attend. Voted unanimously. Members present: Mr. Goff, Mr. Lambert, Ms. Oakley, Ms. Villa, Ms. Amtmanis (called in) Members absent: Ms. Barmasse, Mr. Bushey, Ms. Caldwell and Mr. Carlson Administration and others present: Mr. Smith, Superintendent of Schools Mr. Steven Albrecht, Intern Ms. Corinne Barney, Intern Ms. Karen Asetta, School Business Manager 2.3 The Board exited Executive Session at 6:14 p.m. 2.4 The regular meeting of the Board of Education was called to order by the Chairman, Mr. Goff, at 6:30 p.m. in the High School T-Bell. 3. Pledge of Allegiance Members present: Mr. Goff, Mr. Lambert, Ms. Oakley, Ms. Villa, Ms. Amtmanis (arrived at 6:55 p.m.) and Mr. Carlson Members absent: Ms. Barmasse, Mr. Bushey and Ms. Caldwell Administration and others present: Mr. Smith, Superintendent of Schools Ms. Clark, Director of Curriculum & Instruction (arrived at 6:43 p.m.) Mr. Mosier, Director of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services Ms. Asetta, School Business Manager Mr. Rizzuto, Principal of East Hampton High School Mr. Warner, Interim Assistant Principal of East Hampton High School Mr. Lehmann, Principal of East Hampton Middle School Mr. Sullivan, Principal of Center School Mr. Gonzalez, Principal of Memorial School (arrived at 7:10 p.m.) Ms. Gadoury, Assistant Principal of Memorial School (arrived at 6:39 p.m.) East Hampton High School Student Board Representative: Hannah Balda 1

4. Liaisons 4.1 Inter-Board Liaisons - None 4.2 Labor Union Representative - None Mr. Archibald thanked the Board for the tone of the Teacher negotiations. It was very respectful. 4.3 Update from Principals & Director of Curriculum & Instruction The Principals and the Director of Curriculum & Instruction provided brief updates of current events at their respective schools. 5. Audience of Citizens - None 6. Consent Agenda 6.1 November 13, 2018 minutes Motion by Ms. Oakley, seconded by Mr. Lambert, to approve the consent agenda. Voted unanimously. 7. Student/Staff Recognition - None 8. o December 8 @ Bacon Academy (9:30am) 8.2 Personnel Committee Mr. Goff had no report at this time. 8.3 Policy & Curriculum Committee Mr. Carlson noted that the Policy & Curriculum Committee has not met but there are two policies on tonight s agenda for the Board s review. 8.4 Finance, Transportation, Buildings & Grounds Committee 8.5 Liaison Reports Mr. Goff noted that a representative from LEARN will be at the December 10 th Board meeting. 9. Communications 9.1 Superintendent s Report - Emily Balda: International Service - Update on Teacher Negotiations Mr. Smith thanked the Teacher s union for their willingness to negotiate with the Board of Education. They were budget conscious. This is a process that we do every 3 years. Mr. Smith noted that he thinks that the community will be happy with this agreement and he looks forward to sharing the details with the Board of Finance and the Town Council. 10. Program Presentation - None 11. Unfinished Business - None 12. New Business 12.1 Review of Recommended Board of Education Policy 1250.1, Classroom Observations (First Reading) Review of Recommended Board of Education Policy 1250.1, Classroom Observations. At the next meeting we will recommend the approval of Policy 1250.1. 12.2 Review of Recommended Board of Education Policy 5144.1, Physical Restraint/Seclusion (First Reading) Review of Recommended Board of Education Policy 5144.1, Physical Restraint/Seclusion. At the next meeting we will recommend the approval of Policy 5144.1. 12.3 Approval of the High School Music Trip to Virginia Beach, Virginia Motion by Mr. Lambert, seconded by Ms. Villa, to approve the April 23-26, 2020 High School Music Department trip to Virginia Beach, VA pursuant to Boar of Education Policy 6153 (Field Trips). Voted unanimously. 12.4 Approval of the Senior Class Trip to Washington D.C. Motion by Mr. Lambert, seconded by Ms. Oakley, to approve the October 1-4, 2019 annual Senior Class Trip to Washington D.C. as recommended by the Principal and the Superintendent of Schools. Voted unanimously. 3
