1 April 23, 2018 The regular meeting of the Le Roy Central School Board of Education was called to order on April 23, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. by President Donald Hobart in the Board of Education conference room. The following members were present: Mr. Lawrence Bonacquisti Mrs. Denise Duthe Mr. Donald Hobart Mr. Richard Lawrence Mr. Peter Loftus Mr. Lloyd Miller Mr. Jacalyn Whiting The following administrators were also present: Mr. Merritt Holly, Superintendent of Schools Mr. Brian Foeller, School Business Administrator Mr. Holly congratulated the Le Roy Music Department, students and community for its designation as one of the 2018 Best Communities for Music Education. Le Roy has received this award 12 times in the past 13 years. Mrs. Duthe and seconded by Mr. Miller, the Board of Education approved the following consent item, as listed: 1. Recommendations of the Committee for Special Education. Voting: 7 Yes, 0 No. Motion carried. Mrs. Whiting and seconded by Mr. Loftus, the Board of Education adopted the following resolution, on a roll call vote: RESOLVED, that the Le Roy Central School District Board of Education approve the proposed administrative budget for the

Board of Cooperative Educational Services for 2018-19 in the amount of $2,725,686. Voting: 7 Yes, 0 No. Motion carried. Mr. Lawrence and seconded by Mr. Loftus, the Board of Education approved a merged hockey team with Batavia and other schools for 2018-19, a merged girls gymnastics team with Batavia and other schools for 2018-19 and a merged swim team with Byron- Bergen for 2018-19. Voting: 7 Yes, 0 No. Motion carried. Acting on a motion given by Mr. Miller and seconded by Mr. Loftus, the Board of Education tabled action on Item G.4., Approval of Termination and Appointment of Marching Band Director for 2017-18, to following Executive Session. Voting: 7 Yes, 0 No. Motion carried. Acting on a motion given by Mrs. Whiting and seconded by Mr. Miller, the Board of Education tabled action on Item G.6., Approval of 2018-19 Coaching Appointments, to follow Executive Session. Voting: 7 Yes, 0 No. Motion carried. Mr. Lawrence and seconded by Mr. Miller, the Board of Education adopted the 2018-19 New York State School Property Tax Report Card, as presented. Voting: 7 Yes, 0 No. Motion carried. Mr. Miller and seconded by Mr. Bonacquisti, the Board of Education approved the appointment Ms. Toni Ezzell of Byron-Bergen Central School District as the Deputy Claims Auditor for the remainder of the 2017-18 school year. Voting: 7 Yes, 0 No. Motion carried. Mrs. Whiting and seconded by Mr. Loftus, the Board of Education approved the appointment of Ms. Bonnie Whitney as an additional independent contractors to serve as Additional Chairperson, as needed, for the district Committee for Special Education (CSE), the subcommittee on Special Education, the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and the Section 504 Committee. Voting: 7 Yes, 0 No. Motion carried. On a motion given by Mrs. Whiting and seconded by Mr. Loftus, the Board of Education entered into executive session at 5:01 p.m. for the purpose of discussion of the 5

medical, financial, credit or employment history of a particular person or corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal, or removal of a particular person or corporation and discussion of student discipline issue. Voting: 7 Yes, 0 No. Motion carried. The Board returned to open session at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Miller and seconded by Mrs. Duthe, the Board of Education terminated the appointment of Mr. Tim Denmark as Marching Band Director for the 2017-18 season effective at the end of the fall season (effective October 29, 2017) and, further, appointed Mr. Matthew Nordhausen as Marching Band Director effective October 30, 2017 through June 30, 2018 at the LTA Contract stipend (pro-rated). Voting: 7 Yes, 0 No. Motion carried.
