Students are encouraged to take advantage of Titan Time Tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as any help their teachers offer. For safety and security, please remind your student to wear his or her ID on a lanyard worn around the neck. Students who forget to bring one, will have one reprinted for $5 in the counseling office. Also, please remind your students that the Canine unit will be searching all of school grounds on Wednesday. Most of our students make good choices. However, contraband found anywhere on school grounds are subject to penalties under both school rules and the law. Please remember by parking a vehicle on school property, the driver is agreeing to have the vehicle searched at any time. Students must leave the building by 2:30 p.m. or immediately after their school sanctioned activity for their own safety and for the security of the school. Did you know fighting on school property is a Civil Infraction in Sterling Heights? According to City Ordinance 44-8, Any person who engages, participates, or is otherwise involved in fighting on school property shall be responsible for a municipal civil infraction, punishable as provided in Chapter 1 of the City Code, in addition to any applicable criminal penalties for offenses committed during or related to such fighting. The penalty according to Chapter 1 is $150 for each violation; $375 for the first repeat offense; $750 for any second or subsequent repeat offense; and $1500 for any third or subsequent offense. Most Stevenson students act responsibly and in a safe manner. Please remind students to report potential conflict. The administration and our school resource officer would much rather help prevent conflict than deal with the aftermath which includes school and civil penalties.
