All the profits from the fair went into the classroom libraries, the media center, and to purchase books for a future author visit. Thank you to all the families that helped support the fair by purchasing books. A huge thanks to all the volunteers who helped run the fair. It was a complete success!! We could not do it without all our wonderful volunteers. The winners of the Open House Event Contest were Parker Williamson (IU football tickets) and Adalynn Lyon (Target gift card). NOTES FROM THE NURSE We have been seeing more students getting sick with stomachaches and fevers. Even if it is just viral, remember they are still contagious! Just a reminder to always encourage your kids (and remember yourselves, too!) to wash their hands often and use good sneezing/coughing habits=cough in your sleeve/elbow. (Ask them about the video we show at school every year about that!) If your child does become sick: 1) Please call the attendance line to report their absence each day-881-0561; select attendance line and follow prompts. 2) Keep them at home for 24 hours AFTER any fever (without meds), vomiting, diarrhea symptoms 3) Make sure they can eat solid food and are not too weak to return to school. 4) Be considerate of other students and staff members so we don t expose everyone! Kids are allowed to make up all work they miss when they are sick! We want them at school, but we want them to be well enough to learn and do their work, too. We can make it through this cold and flu season but it will take everyone working together! The Center Grove Education Foundation (CGEF) is holding an all-district fundraiser through the Pacers. Students will be bringing home packets with ticket information to help raise money for the CGEF. Families may choose to purchase tickets at different price points for the CENTER GROVE NIGHT at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Friday, January 16th at 7:00 PM against the Detroit Pistons. Order forms are due by WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8. Please be sure the form is filled out completely because tickets will be printed with the names of the child and parent. Students will be receiving their prizes at the game. If a student earns a prize but does not attend the game, the prize will be mailed directly to them.
