file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/fornellis/Desktop/For%20Feb.%2026,%202008/FW%20MJC%20Time%20line.htm From: Brian Sanders Sent: Tuesday, February 19, 2008 2:18 PM To: _MJC Curriculum Committee Cc: 'jason@governet.net'; 'steve@governet.net' Subject: FW: MJC Time line Attachments: MJCtimeline.doc FYI the attachment shows the tentative implementation timeline for CurricUNET. We are progressing through details each week. Last week, I requested, per our discussion the other day, that the Lab Content field be activated so if a class has lab hours then you d need to fill out the components of content related to the lab the Institutional Outcomes feature be activated so for each class you d need to select the particular institutional outcomes that the course addresses the matching feature between Student Learning Goals and methods of assessment be activated so for each objective you d need to match it to one of the assessments used in the course. Also, per our discussion the other day, we have learned that the matching between course objectives and program objectives is done on the program level. So when you author a program level objective, you then must select the particular course that addresses this objective. None of these will be required until the Curriculum Committee has a chance to view the components in action and deliberately vote to implement these as required components. But if we do, then our work on addressing SLO s will include: 1. Match each course to one or more Institutional Outcomes 2. Each course has an overall Course Goal 3. Each objective is matched to one or more assessments 4. Each program objective is matched to one or more courses 5. Each prerequisite skill is matched to one or more prerequisite course I hope that the committee votes to implement each of these features, and that we can then cite this implementation as specific action in response to the accreditation report we re working on. 5 file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/fornellis/De...For%20Feb.%2026,%202008/FW%20MJC%20Time%20line.htm (1 of 2)2/21/2008 11:07:40 AM
