Patron's message Dear Friends, Hope that new academic session will be one of the glorious years of the college aspiring us for new heights and new dreams. Opportunities and challenges are always there along with the risk. We cannot be stagnant just because of the risks. Risks will have to be taken and we will have to move forward to make New India and new society of our dreams. One small step is always enough to show us the light. So let us begin by putting in our conscious efforts to keep the premises of our college clean and green. We have more than 150 students in first year undergraduate courses who have secured about 80 to 90% marks in 12th standard. Let our college GACC have academic excellence as well, in the time to come. I wish you success all in all your endeavors. -DR. S.L. GARG

From Editor s Desk I am delighted to bring to you this issue of newsletter with the theme of Green Campus Clean campus. Modernization and lack of awareness both have done enough damage to the Nature. Man is supposed to be the wisest of all the living beings yet he has proved to be the most ignorant and brutal towards his own source of life. He has not spared a single opportunity of exploiting all the five elements of Nature comprising water, air, earth, fire and space. We are so busy in our business of living that we tend to forget the fundamental truth of our own existence. 72% of our body is water, 12% earth, 6% air, 4% fire and rest is space or ether. It is obvious that the disharmony between the internal human nature and external nature would have repercussions. Over the past few decades we have managed to dirty the pure waters of our rivers, create parallel mountains of filth, polythene and waste on our Himalayas, ruthlessly wipe out trees depriving us of beautiful lush green forests, litter our plateaus with all kinds of non-biodegradable. Now it is high time that we stop being selfish. Luckily, there are many organisations in this world dedicated to fight on behalf of the nature. WWF, Earth First, Green Peace are a few such organisations fighting for a better tomorrow. But does that mean, we can sit back & relax, and let someone do all our work for us? No. We all need to step up our game. We need to forgo our vested interest, for the good of humanity, for posterity we must work together to save our environment. As the saying goes, charity begins at home; we must also begin from our own campus. Let us take a vow to keep our campus clean and green. Dr. Usha Jain
