What is the mission of KMS Student Council? Karrer Middle School Student Council is a student led organization that provides leadership and service to Karrer Middle School. KMS Student Council members are seen as the leaders of the KMS student body. When does the KMS Student Council meet? The KMS Student Council 8 th grade cabinet and 7 th grade cabinet will typically meet the first Thursday of each month. The KMS Student Council Cabinets, Homebase Representatives, and Members At Large will typically meet the third Thursday of each month. A Student Council Homebase Representative is a student who will attend the KMS Student Council meetings and report information to his/her homebase. The representatives will also bring comments and concerns from the students of their homebase to the meetings. If there are multiple students applying to be the representative from a homebase, then an election will be held. Candidates will prepare a 1 2-minute speech to share with their homebase. Students may not distribute candy or other items to promote themselves as a candidate to the students in the homebase, this includes signs. Candidates should spend their time creating and practicing their speeches. The voting will take place after all speeches have been given.
