Please keep an eye out for an upcoming invitation to our special Playground Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Also, next week, during Catholic Schools Week, we will honor all school volunteers at our Volunteer s Mass on Wednesday, January 30 th at 8:30am, in the church. We invite all parents, family members and friends who have dedicated their time to serve our school community in some capacity this school year, to attend mass and to come to the altar to be recognized and receive a special blessing at the end of mass. It takes many people to make our school great and we are truly blessed with a community of active participants who work in partnership to make our St. John Catholic School the best learning environment that it can be! Our Lost and Found bin, located just outside the school s science lab, is overflowing with jackets and sweatshirts, lunch pails, notebooks, and more. If you have any items missing, please check the bin. Parents/students are requested to check the lost and found when possible. Just a reminder if you currently receive the Active tuition rate we ask that you make a minimum contribution of $200 to the parish collections or school Annual Fund prior to registration for the next school year in order to qualify for the Active tuition rate for the 2019-2020 school year. WEDNESDAY JANUARY 30 TH VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION MASS If you have volunteered in any way here at St. John please join us for mass on 1/30 so that we can recognize you in front of the community. MODIFIED MORNING DROP-OFF SCHEDULE 1/14 1/31 Due to the church renovation we will be doing morning SEP and morning assembly will take place INSIDE of the school. Recess & P.E. will be held outside of the gym. Dismissal WILL remain the same. Students will be dismissed from the gym every day. DO YOU USE SHUTTERFLY? IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TUITION ASSISTANCE: Applications Now Available FACE (Family Aid Catholic Education) and BASIC financial aid applications are now available. The BASIC Fund is available for new students whose families meet all the application requirements. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2019. For more information, please go to www.basicfund.org or see the link on our website. Current families please expect your renewal paperwork mid-march, due back in April. FACE applications are now available online only at https://online/factsmgt.com/signin/3fv YB or see the link on their website. This application requires documentation for income received in 2018. The deadline to apply is March 8, 2019. IMPORTANT INFO PLEASE READ: All families wishing to be considered for SJCS tuition assistance through the school must first apply for FACE before March 8, 2019. If you are currently receiving aid or wish to apply for the 2019-20 school year, you must first complete a FACTS application and apply for FACE before consideration for SJCS tuition assistance. If you have any questions regarding FACE, BASIC, or SJCS tuition assistance, please contact us. Deadlines established by FACE and BASIC are firm; a missed deadline will mean a missed opportunity
