JOB SHADOWING: NOW AVAILABLE ALL YEAR LONG Traditionally facilitated in January, our job shadowing program will be available to students and alumni at any point during the year. This provides an opportunity to incorporate a shadowing experience with a current job and family priorities, while gaining a wider time frame to participate. Note: Due to the nature of some professions, shadowing may not be available in certain industries or only available at certain times during the year. Job Shadowing Experiences are Unique in That They: Provide opportunities to connect with professionals and colleagues in your field of interest. Allow you to visualize yourself in the industry, career and role you are exploring. Enable you to imagine other possibilities outside of your current job or industry. Past Shadowing Experiences Include: Meeting with various medical team members at a counseling practice. Observing the daily projects and workflow of a busy public relations and advertising office. Alumni interested in job shadowing are eligible to participate and will be matched with an SJC alum whenever possible. Shadowing can take place over the course of one day or several, depending on the nature of the experience and the availability of all parties. All interested alumni will need to complete an application that indicates their goals, availability and desired type of experience before a match can be made. For more information, contact the Office of Alumni Engagement. Alumni assist us at events by greeting attendees, helping load and unload supplies and by setting up and breaking down events. We always look for alumni to be keynote speakers, panel moderators and workshop facilitators for students and fellow alumni.

Campus Ministry The Office of Alumni Engagement continues to maintain a strong relationship with Campus Ministry to be able to offer ongoing opportunities for alumni volunteering that connect with the College s core mission and values. Many students who have participated in service-based projects and trips are now some of our most active and engaged alumni leaders. Make A Difference Day An annual celebration hosted by Campus Ministry on a Saturday in the fall where faculty, staff, students and alumni participate in service projects that directly benefit community members. Past projects include beautifications, beach cleanups and garden revitalizations. Come one, come all!
