JUSTICE MARKANDEY KATJU, CHAIRMAN, PRESS COUNCIL OF INDIA Hon ble Mr. Justice Markandey Katju, Chairman, Press Council of India gave a lecture on What is India at the academic block, NLSIU. Faculty and students attended the programme. Hon ble Justice Mr. M N Venkatachalaiah, Former Chief Justice of India presided over the function. Prof. R Venkata Rao, Vice Chancellor welcomed the gathering. The students interacted with Hon ble Justice Markandey Katju and Hon ble Justice M N Venkatachalaiah. Prizes were distributed and trophies given to the students who won various Moot Court Competitions. Prof. T V Subba Rao, gave Vote of thanks.

ELEUTER G MUSHI MZUMBE UNIVERSITY, TANZANIA Dr. Eleuter G Mushi, Dean, Faculty of Law Mzumbe University, Tanzania, visited NLSIU and interacted with the Vice chancellor, Prof. V S Mallar and also visited the campus.

B P SANJAY VICE CHANCELLOR, CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF TAMILNADU, TIRUVARUR Mr. Sanjay, Vice chancellor of Central University of Tamilanadu, Tiruvarur visited us and interacted with the Vice chancellor. 7. 8 th November, 2011 GUEST LECTURE BY PROF. ANIL B SURAJ Mr. Anil B Suraj from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore took classes for V year students on Competition Law & Policy.

8. 11 th November, 2011 LECTURE BY PROF. A PRASANNA KUMAR INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AND INDIA AS A GLOBAL ROLE PLAYER IN THE 21 st CENTURY Prof. A Prasanna Kumar, Hony. Director, Centre for Policy Studies and Former Rector, Andhra University, Waltair (A.P) addressed the faculty and students on International Relations and India as a global role player in the 21 st Century on the occasion of Celebration of National Education Day. Prof. R Venkata Rao, Vice- Chancellor, presided over the function.

Prof. Prasanna Kumar gave the tropies to our students (winners of NLIU Juris Corp Moot at NLIU Bhopal) Mr. Diwakar Kishore (Fifth year student) and Mr. Aditya Vikram Singh (Third year student) as speakers, and Ms. Aakashi Lodha (Third year student) as researcher The 2 nd NLIU - Juris Corp Moot at NLIU Bhopal was scheduled for 4 th November 6 th November 2011. ; NLSIU won the best team, best memorial and Mr. Diwakar Kishore won the best speaker for NLSIU, winning a total of Rs. 70,000 for them. He also presented a gift from the University to Ms.Vrinda Bhandari (Vth Yr., B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)) of NLSIU, Bangalore who was awarded the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship for 2012. 9. 12th November, 2011 VISIT OF MR. MAHESH YANAMBAKKAM AND MS. SIMONE AUSTIN JONES UNIVERSITY OF READING, UK Mr. Mahesh Yanambakkam, Regional Manager Central and South Asia Reading International Office, University of Reading and Ms. Simone Austin-Jones, Senior Teaching Fellow, University of Reading, UK visited and interacted with Prof. T V Subba Rao. They were impressed by the campus visit.

ANIL B SURAJ Mr. Anil B Suraj from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore took classes for V year students on Competition Law & Policy 11. 17th November, 2011 GUEST LECTURE BY PROF. MURALIDHAR TO II YEAR LL.M STUDENTS Mr. Muralidhar, Professor at Super Computers, Indian Institute of Science gave a guest lecture on Technological Aspects of IT to II year LL.M students. 12. 23rd November, 2011 VISIT OF WORLD BANK DELEGATION LED BY Ms. ANNE-MARIE LEROY, Sr. VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL COUNSEL, WORLD BANK GROUP

Legal Vice Presidency The World Bank Delegation led by Ms. Anne-Marie Leroy, Senior Vice-President and General Counsel, World Bank Group visited NLSIU along with Mr. Hadi Abushakra, Chief Counsel, South Asia Practice Group and Mr. Vikram Raghavan, Senior Counsel, East Asia, South Asia, and Operations Policy

Legal Vice Presidency, The World Bank. They interacted with faculty and students. At COMMONS Cell Prof. M K Ramesh gave a power point presentation and discussed about Legal Endeavours in Environmental Commons. This was followed by visit to Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP) and interacted with Dr. Japhet. He briefed them about the activities of the centre. The World Bank Team was interested in interacting with the centre and wanted to have collaboration with the centre. They then left for CCL Extension Centre at Bidadi, after lunch. The team was impressed by the schools there and showed interest in collaborating with the centre. They also enjoyed the cultural programme organised by the centre.
