Cost is $16 per attendee. The cut-off date to attend is today, January 10, 2017. Totally 80's Auction/Social: Preparations continue and March 25 th is quickly approaching! Our overall committee will begin meeting bi-weekly and we've also formed a decorating sub-committee that will be meeting monthly. Please consider joining us for part or all of the following meetings. Remember, the auction is one of the three major fundraising events you are required to volunteer for and these planning meetings count toward those hours! TODAY, Tuesday, January 10th at The Front Porch, Leonardtown 5:30 PM- Decorating Sub-Committee Meeting 6:30 PM- Overall Auction Committee Meeting Tuesday, January 24 th at The Olde Town Pub, Leonardtown 6:00 PM- Overall Auction Committee Meeting We are still seeking old cassette tapes to use for making table centerpieces. If you have any laying around collecting dust please send them our way (they will NOT be returned). You can send them to school to the attention of Kristin Wathen (Sam, 1st grade or Luke, Pre-K) or email us at faw.social@gmail.com and we can arrange a time for pick-up.

We're also looking for donations to be auctioned off. If you or someone you know provides a service that would be of interest (landscaping, painting, etc), has a vacation home that could be auctioned off, or tickets to area sporting events please let us know. Many of the items auctioned off in the past were generously donated from our very own FAW families and are always greatly appreciated! Ledo s Spirit Night: Join us for dinner at Ledo s tomorrow, Wednesday, January 11 th. When you mention "FAW ", Ledo s will donate 20% of the sale to the school! This offer goes from 4pm 8pm and includes sit down or carry out service. We hope to see you there! Early Dismissal: This Friday, January 13 th is a 12:30pm Early Dismissal day. NO AFTERCARE Tuition: Tuition envelopes are due January 15 th for those who elected to pay on the 1 2 year basis. Please note that all tuition should be in by the 15 th of each month. Please check your tuition payment schedule to see if your account is up to date. If you are having problems with the tuition payment, please contact Mrs. Maloney. No School: There will be no school on Monday, January 16 th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Parking Lot Change: All cars bringing students in the morning are to enter the property at the far entrance to the church and continue in the car line to the back of the school and coming around to the line of cars near the gym entrance to the school. For safety reasons, we are going to use the same procedure as the car line in the afternoon dismissal line. Please begin this new procedure immediately. Art Supply Check! Please check your student's art supply bag: many bags need to be supplemented or have supplies replaced. Grades 1-5 should have: 24-count Crayon, 12- or 18- count colored pencils, 10-count Crayola markers, a pink eraser, #2 pencils, a pencil sharpener, 2 Sharpies, 1pair of scissors and 1 large or 2 small glue sticks. Thank you for keeping these supplies fresh! Italian Dinner Volunteers/Donations Needed: Volunteers are needed to make meatballs on Saturday, January 21 st starting at 10:30am in the FAW kitchen. Volunteers are also needed for the dinner on Saturday, February 4 th between 10am and 9pm. Please note: Volunteer positions are limited. The following donations are needed by 10am, Saturday, February 4 th : bottled water and 2-liter sodas. Parent Portal: If you have not yet accessed your parent portal account, please do so before the end of the 2 nd quarter. Report cards will be posted on the portal on Tuesday, January 31 st. E-mail Mrs. Smith if you need help with your account. fawscomputer@fatherandrewwhite.org Looking for FAW Community Heroes: As part of our Catholic Schools Week celebration, we would like to invite our FAW parents who are members of the Armed Forces or First Responders, to celebrate at morning prayers with us on Thursday, February 2 nd. If you are available from 7:55-8:45am that day and would like to participate, please email Mrs. Pietsch at fawslibrary@fatherandrewwhite.org for more information. Catholic Schools Week starts January 29 th. To kick off the weeklong celebration, each of our

three parishes will highlight our school at the 11:00am mass on Sunday, January 29 th. Our students will serve as lectors, gift bearers, and altar servers at each parish. Forms for children to volunteer in their parish will be sent home in next Tuesday s weekly envelope to give you time to check your calendars for availability. We hope all of our families will make an effort to attend the 11:00 masses on this day. All students are asked to wear their school uniforms to Mass on January 29 th. Out of parish families are cordially invited to share in the liturgical celebration at St. Aloysius (Leonardtown), St. Francis Xavier, (Compton), or Our Lady of Medley s Neck. More information and a schedule of all the week s events will be sent home soon. Save the Dates: Our Open Houses to invite interested new families to visit our wonderful school will be held on Friday, February 3 rd, 10:00 11:30am and Sunday, February 12 th, 12:00 1:00pm. We appreciate that our families are the best ambassadors for FAW and your word of mouth about our school is the best PR we have! Please help us get the word out about our Open Houses to all prospective family and friends, especially for grades PK 3. Casino Night: Our Casino Night is one of the 3 major fundraising events in the second half of the school year. This year it will be held on February 25, 2017 in our FAW school gym. We will need at least 25 dealers (training will be provided), bankers, people to set up the equipment, and people to dismantle the equipment and load it on a tractor trailer truck at the end of the event. All service scholarship families must work some of their 35 hours at one of our major events: Casino Night, Auction/Gala, or our Golf Tournament. Italian Dinner & Brown Bag Auction: Our Italian Dinner and Brown Bag Auction will be on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 4-8pm in the school gym. The menu includes spaghetti, homemade marinara sauce, homemade meatballs, Italian sausage, garlic bread, salad, and desserts. Tickets will also be on sale for a variety of filled themed baskets that will be raffled at the dinner. Dinner prices are $10 for ages 12 and older, $5 for ages 6-11, and $3 for ages 5 and under. Brown Bag Auction: The annual Brown Bag Auction will be occurring during the Italian Dinner on Saturday, February 4 th, 2017. Donations for the various baskets are now being accepted. If you have anything that you would like to donate, or would like to put together a basket of your own, we will be collecting all items or finished baskets through February 2 nd, 2017. Anything that you can give would be greatly appreciated in order to make this event a huge success. For more information, please see the attached flyer. SCRIP: There are several NEW scrip retailers that are available for special order! HILTON now offers scrip with a 2% rebate, which is accepted at Hilton Hotels, and properties worldwide that accept American Express. We can also order scrip for SLING TV with a 7% rebate! FAW News Email: Do you have an announcement you d like to put in our weekly bulletin? Or perhaps you went to a FAW game or event and you d like to share some information.
