Celebrates World Sight Day @ 11 th October 2018 #Eye Care Everywhere

World Sight Day (WSD) was celebrated on 11 th October 2018 (Thursday) this year, to create awareness and focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment. Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital is one of the most renowned Charitable Trust Hospital in Central India awarded with India s Highest Eye Care Award for 2018 (Dharamsey Nansey Oman Award for Outstanding High Quality, High Volume Comprehensive Eye Care Service Delivery), and is the First NABH Accredited Multispeciality Eye Hospital in Madhya Pradesh equipped with ultra modern facilities providing excellent services in the field of Eye & Medical care since 1987. Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital organized World Sight Day Week in Partnership with Sightsavers and CBM and in Collaboration with Vision 2020. VISION 2020: The Right to Sight INDIA is part of the global initiative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) for eliminating avoidable visual impairment by year 2020. It was a collaborative effort of INGOs, NGOs, Eye care organisations in India and the Government to coordinate and advocate for improved eye care programs; to gain and share knowledge and together develop solutions to achieve quality, comprehensive and equitable eye care. In view to increase awareness in the society, various competitions based on the theme Vision Safety and Eye Care Everywhere were organized during this week at Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital and on October 11, 2018 a Sight Care Awareness Rally took off from Bharat Bhawan to Raja Bhoj Statue, VIP Road, Bhopal which was flagged off by Dy. Director General (O) Dr. Sangeeta Abrol. The Sight Care Awareness Rally was organized on 11 th October 2018, the theme for the same was VISION WALK. Rally was attended by the heads of International and National Non Government Organizations, Heads of the renowned eye hospitals, Government Officials, School Students, Doctors and Staff of Sewa Sadan. Rally was attended by 650 people and all Walked Together for Eye Care Everywhere.

Activities Photos 1. Painting Competition (4 th October 2018) Total 76 students from 15 schools participated. The competition was organized at Auditorium of Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School, Bhopal. Dr. Madhavi Gaur, Art Teacher, Sant Hirdraram Girls College, Bhopal was the judge for the competition. Winners: 1 st Prize - Ms. Shruti Sharma, Jahangirabad Govt. School, Bhopal 2 nd Prize Ms. Prakrati Rathore, Blue Bird School, Sehore 3 rd Prize Ms. Atishay Jain, Mithi Govindram Public School, Bhopal

2. Essay Competition (5 th October 2018) Total 57 students participated from 11 schools. The competition was held at Manu Makhija Bhawan, SHIM College, Bhopal. The Judge for the competition was Dr. Prerna Upadhyaya, Medical Director (Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital ), Dr. Samta Patel, Glaucoma Surgeon(SSEH) and Dr. Shubha Rai, Ophthalmologist (SSEH). Winners: 1 st Prize Ms. Pooja Prajapati, Bhouri Govt. School, SHN, Bhopal 2 nd Prize Ms. Reenu Jaiswal, Sadhu Vaswani School, SHN, Bhopal 3 rd Prize Ms. Pooja Surage, Sadhu Vaswani School, SHN, Bhopal

3. Poster Competition (6 th October 2018) Total 47 students participated from 5 colleges. The competition was organized in Seminar Hall, Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital. Dr. Hemant Sinha, State Programme Officer (Ophthalmology), Bhopal was the judge for the competition. Winners: 1 st Prize Ms. Divya Pawar, SHMC of Naturopathy and Medical Sciences, Bhopal 2 nd Prize Ms. Anjali Saxena, SHMC of Naturopathy and Medical Sciences, Bhopal 3 rd Prize Ms. Nikita Godbole, SHMC of Naturopathy and Medical Sciences, Bhopal

4. Photo Competition (9 th October 2018) Total 9 students participated from 4 colleges. The judge for the competition was Mrs. Sridevi Sunderarajan, Development Communications Officer Vision 2020, Development Communications Officer, Vision 2020. Winners: 1 st Prize Ms. Jyotsna Chotwani, Jagran Lake City College, Bhopal 2 nd Prize Ms. Sana Azhar, BSSS College, Bhopal

5. Slogan Competition (8 th October 2018) Total 34 Students participated from 5 colleges. The completion was held at Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital. The judge for the competition was Mr. GP Mali, Additional MD, MP Food and Civil Supplies Corporation, Bhopal. Winners: 1 st Prize Ms. Dimple Gyanchandani, Sant Hirdaram Girls College, Bhopal 2 nd Prize Ms. Anushta Gautam, Sant Hirdaram Girls College, Bhopal 3 rd Prize Ms. Pranjal Gupta, Sant Hirdaram Medical College, Bhopal

6. Wall Painting Competition (9 th & 10 th October 2018) The competition was held at Vradha Ashram, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Bhopal. The judge for the competition was Dr. Sangeeta Abrol, Dy. Director General (O) Ministry of Health, New Delhi, Col. Madan Deshpande, Medical Director, HV Desai Eye Hospita,l Pune, Mr. Phannidra Babu Nukella, CEO Vision 2020 and Mrs. Sridevi Sunderarajan, Development Communications Officer Vision 2020.

Eye Care Awareness Rally 11 th October 2018 The theme for Sight Care Awareness Rally was VISION WALK. The rally was taken off from Bharat Bhawan to Raja Bhoj Statue, VIP Road, Bhopal and was flagged off by Dy. Director of General (O) Ministry of Health (GOI) Dr. Sangeeta Abrol. 650 people attended the rally.

World Sight Day Event (11 th October 2018, Thursday) The World Sight Day event was celebrated at Sant Hirdaram Auditorium,Bhopal. Chief Guest: Dr. Sangeeta Abrol, Dy. Director General (O) Ministry of Health (GOI) Guest of Honour: Mr. Santosh Moses, Vice Chairman Vision 2020 Special Guest: Col.
