COLLEGE PROFILE History and Mission of the College Presently known as University Rajasthan College the premium institution was initially named Government Rajasthan College and was established in 1957. The object and the vision of late Shri Mohanlal Sukhadia, the then Chief Minister, Government of Rajasthan behind the establishment of the college was to develop this college as a nursery for preparing the students for administrative services. In 1962, late Shri Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister, Government of India visited this college. Eventually in the same year this premier college of the state was merged into the University of Rajasthan. In July 1962, the college was handed over to the University of Rajasthan and since then it has been a constituent college of the University. Initially, from 1962 to 1972, it was a post-graduate college which was converted into University Rajasthan College for undergraduate Arts/Social Science/ Humanities studies.
Luminaries of the College: Directors/Deans/Principals Prof. Huge was the founder Principle from 1957-1960. Prof. S.P. Verma, eminent Political Scientist headed the institution from 1960-62. Prof. Shanker Sahai Saxena relinquished the post of Director, College Education (Government of Rajasthan) and preferred to become the Principal of this College in 1964. Prof. Satish Chandra, former Chairman, University Grants Commission was Principal of the College in 1968. Prof. G.C. Pande, former V.C., Rajasthan University and Allahabad University too was associated with the College. Prof. Raj Krishna, eminent economist, associated as member of Planning Commission, Government of India, Prof. Iqbal Narain, Ex-Vice-Chancellor of University of Rajasthan, Banaras Hindu University and the Secretary General, I.C.S.S.R., New Delhi, Prof. T.K.N. Unnithan, Ex-Vice-Chancellor, Rajasthan University have been on the faculty of this College.

COURSE CURRICULUM 1. Regular shift of B.A. Part I, II and III (Pass and Honours Courses) a) In Pass course the college offer courses in 19 subjects including Anthropology, Drawing & Painting, French, Urdu, etc. with 69 subject combinations. b) Student's can opt for Honours courses in 8 subjects (Economics, English Literature, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration and Sanskrit). 2. The College started Self Financing Scheme Courses in 1994 for all the subjects. This shift is more or less a parallel College and has come to be known as University Rajasthan College (S.F.S. Courses).
Special U.G.C. Courses Remedial Courses for Minority categories sponsored by UGC during the X Plan period. Coaching for entry in services for S.C., S.T. and Minority Communities. Career Oriented Course on Textile Designing
N.S.S. Programmes Development of Indira Priyadarshini Udyan. Construction of Platform for Cultural Activities. Maintaince of Campus (Cleanliness and Greenery). Visit to nearby Slums and Backward Areas. Organizing Special Camps in Winter and Summer Break.
Other Activities The College has been organizing many competitions like debate, essay writing and cultural programmes regularly. The Students of this Institute have time and again brought many laurels to the Institute. Orientation Programme of new students is held in the beginning of each new session. Annual Prize Distribution is held to felicitate the meritorious students.
