It is a special day for St Gabriel s. We remember the Angel Gabriel coming to Mary and asking her to be the Mother of God. Mary answered YES! Let us pray that we too can hear what God is asking of us in our lives and that we have the faith and courage to say Yes, just like Mary did.. Holy Week - Easter We still have almost four weeks of Lent, including Holy Week, leading up to Easter. In class the students will be reflecting on what they are doing in preparation for the most joyful season of the church Easter. Many of our families attended the Way of the Crosss last Friday night where Mrs Miller, Students Staff helped us reflect on Jesus journey to Calvary. Please note the timetable of Holy Week and Easter services at St Gabriel s in the newsletter today (p. 6). There are many opportunities to join our parish during this special time. Lap-a-thon Congratulations and a big, big Thank you to all the students and their families who participated in the Lap-a-thon. The students received their Incentive Prizes today. 17 students raised $60.00 or more and won a footy, netball or soccer ball. We raised over $2,500.00 possibly more but we need to purchase the lucky-draw prizes yet!! I hope the children shoot/kick many goals with their footys/net/soccer balls! There are some photos of the day in the newsletter. First Reconciliation: Tuesday April 1 at 7:30pm Please keep Miss Beth Jewson and our Year 3 First Reconciliation candidtes in your prayers as they enter the final week of preparation. We wish them all well as they receive the first sacrament of the church since their Baptism. The First Reconciliation ceremony presents all us parishioners the opportunity to benefit from the Sacrament as well over the Lenten season. There will be a number of priests at St Gabriel s. Please join us. Year 5/6 Camp: Next Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday Our 5/6 classes are excited about travelling to Dromana next week for their school camp. Mrs Judy Doyle, Mr Adrian Dixon, Mrs Clare Ryan and I look forward to sharing good times with them all.
