(Under the aegis of the Delhi Public School Society, New Delhi) Affiliated to C.B.S.E., New Delhi Affiliation No. 330530 Newsletter August 2018 Needle and Thread Race The students of class II participated in Needle and Thread Race with great enthusiasm on August 1, 2018. The participants put their heart and soul to insert the thread into needle. Independence Day Celebrations nd th 72 Independence Day was celebrated on 15 August 2018, at Delhi Public School, Gaya with great alacrity and exuberance. Shri Ram Naresh Sharma, Chairman, Magadh Educational Trust, Gaya adorned the grand spectacle as the Chief Guest, Dr. M. S. Jamal, Principal, Magadh College of Education, Dubhal, Gaya embellished the occasion as the Guest of Honor. The ceremony started at 7:00 a. m. in the School Quadrangle with crowd of parents, staff, and students. The tricolor was unfurled and all sang the National Anthem. Thereafter, the cultural program started with an amalgamation of mellifluous music presented by the English and Hindi Choir Group of the school, enthralling the audience and evoking the feelings of patriotism and national spirit amongst all. It was followed by a classical composition 'Tarana' presented by the Dipsites which was the conglomeration of Gaudiya Nritya and Kathak, all beautifully choreographed by their mentors. The highlight of the programme was a free style dance performed by the students which paid homage to the efforts of the numerous freedom fighters of India. Mr. Sanjeet Soni, the Principal, Delhi Public School, Gaya in is his speech reminded the students and the teacher about the supreme sacrifices of the great leaders and freedom fighters and motivated the students to bring glory and laurels to themselves and the country with 1

Independence Day Celebrations continued... their dignified deeds. The programme was admirably compèred by Abid Raza, Class X A and Priyashi, Class X B. The program ended with the singing of the National Anthem and sweets were distributed, in conclusion of the entire deliberation. Independence Day : Primary Wing Activities DPS Gaya conducted various activities related to th Independence Day on 14 August for the Primary Wing. The activities like Face Painting, Rocket Making, Bag Making and Card Making were enthusiastically partaken by the students. It created a patriotic feeling among the students. 2

Raksha Bandhan Celebrations To commemorate the festival of Raksha Bandhan, a Rakhi Making Activity was organised in DPS Gaya on 24th August 2018 for the students of the primary wing. All the students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm and presented their creativity in the most exquisite manner. National Sports Day National Sports Day is celebrated th on 29 August every year in India. It was celebrated in DPS Gaya in Tribute to the legendary hockey player, Major Dhyan Chand Singh who made India proud by his extraordinary skills. To highlight the importance of this day, the students of Delhi Public School, Gaya celebrated it with pride and enthusiasm. The little ones had fun while indulging in threelegged race. The kids learnt a lot about true sportsmanship and the value of playing games. Students were seen playing with true team spirit and the celebration of National Sports Day echoed in the corridors and fields. 3

Janamashtami Celebrations With a motive to make the students aware about the centuries old teachings of Lord Krishna and instil the goodness of almighty into the students, DPS Gaya celebrated Janamashtami with sheer enthusiasm. The tiny tots decked up as Radha & Krishna, enchanted everyone with their colourful attire. An array of cultural programmes filled the atmosphere with devotion. Students presented group dance based on the diverse leelas of Sri Krishna and won the heart of the spectators. At the end the Principal addressed the students and appreciated their efforts. Workshops Catering to the needs of the teaching community a one day workshop for all the teachers on the topic "Personality Development" was organized at DPS Gaya on 11th of August, 2018. Resource person Dr. R i t u N a r a n g, t a l k e d a b o u t i m p l e m e n t a t i o n o f v a r i o u s personality development skills and its effects on students, parents and the society through innovative methods. Teachers' Day Celebrations Teachers Day was celebrated on Wednesday, 5th September 2018 in Delhi Public School, Gaya with great fervor. The students of Classes XI and XII along with their mentor teachers who had been preparing for the grand day for more than a week, organized a great show dedicated to their teachers. The comperers commenced the assembly by bringing everyone s attention to the immense importance of teachers and the role they play in children s lives. On this day, the students g r a t e f u l l y r e m e m b e r e d t h e g r e a t educationalist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose dream was that "Teachers should be the best minds in the country." Hence, Teachers' Day is very important for all the people, the students and even the parents, as the teachers lay the foundation for creating enlightened citizens for the nation. It is the birthday of a timeless teacher and the former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The day buzzed with excitement and smiles all around. Lastly and most importantly, Principal Sir shared a few words of encouragement for the students who had worked for days behind the scenes to organize the event and the assembly. He lauded the entire staff for their exemplary contribution to the school s phenomenal success. It was truly a proud day for the teachers to bask in the love and attention they received from their students! Card Making Activity on Teachers Day Students of Class I showered their love and respect to their teachers through their Card Making Activity on the wonderful occasion of Teacher's Day. 5

Felicitation Ceremony of PRMO -2018 Qualified Students Delhi Public School, Gaya along with its Excellence Partner Vidyamandir Classes organized a Felicitation Ceremony to cherish and applaud the earnest endeavour of the students and celebrate their stupendous academic achievements in IAPT MTA PRMO 2018 on 28th of August, 2018 in Hotel Oaks, Bodhgaya. The function was graced by Mr. Anil Kumar, IPS, S.P. City, Gaya, as the Chief Guest of the occasion.
