Knight s Newsletter R I V E R R I D G E A T H L E T I C S. O R G January 16, 2018 Let s Get to Work! This week we start the very busy, but very fun transition from Winter to Spring sports. While our swimmers, wrestlers and basketball teams make their final push towards region and state playoffs, baseball, tennis, track, soccer, and lacrosse all get started in the next two weeks with golf around the corner. The temperatures would lead you to believe that we are nowhere close to sitting outside and watching our Spring sports compete, but in a couple of short weeks, we will be out there rooting them on. If you would rather stay inside, we have basketball home this Friday, swimming this Saturday, and several opportunities to see The Crucible this week with performances Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday. Don t forget to spend some time this week thinking about your academic schedule for next school year. We have started the scheduling process, so be sure to think through these important decisions. Edge of the Sword: WINTER SPORTS CLASSROOM CREATIVITY HONORS Check out the great job that Alex Caputo and Madison Farmer did on the basketball hype video River Ridge Basketball Hype Video 2018 https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=q6okj45ifsc

Our own Kymberly McCalla was selected as a CCSD Student of the Day, and The Tribune did and article on Ashley Hessman and Work-Based Learning. Expectations A smart man once told me that pressure can break a pipe, but it can also make a diamond. The only poll that really matters is at the end of the year, but it s nice to know what is expected. Your Knights baseball team was selected as the pre-season #1 team in the state by the Georgia Dugout Club magazine.

Thing to Do and See You have several chances over the next couple of weeks to see many of our talented students perform. Our drama department will be presenting The Crucible, and our students will have the chance to showcase their talents in our Talent Show. Make some time to come out and support our kids.
