All families are required to use Smart for tuition and fee payment. Every family will be charged a fee of $22 for Smart services on their first tuition bill. This fee is charged once per school year. Parents have the option of making tuition payments over 1, 10, 11 or 12 months. The 1 payment option should be paid in August 2014 to avoid late fees. All other payment plans end in June of 2015. The 10 month plan runs from September to June; the 11 month plan runs from August to June; the 12-month payment plan begins in July and ends in June. Parents also have the option of choosing the due date of their tuition payments: either on the 1 st, 5 th, 10 th, 15 th, 20 th or 25 th of each month. Payments must be received by Smart on the established due date or a $35 late fee will be charged to the family s account. Smart will also charge an Insufficient Fund Fee of $25 for failed automatic debit transactions. Parents who fall behind in tuition for more than one month will be required to pay the full remaining tuition balance for the year in the second month of default or their child s enrollment in the school will be terminated at the end of the second month of default. A family that is experiencing financial hardship should discuss the situation with the principal immediately to avoid these consequences. No exceptions for non-payment will be granted. Early Morning Care is available at a rate of $6.00 per morning for students who are not enrolled in the Extended Care on a monthly basis. The After School Care is available at a rate of $13.00 per afternoon for students who are not enrolled in the Extended Care on a monthly basis, regardless of the number of hours a student is kept in the After School Care on any given day (not including overtime charges that may be assessed). Both rates increase by $3 for each additional child enrolled per day. Extended Care Overtime Rates If any child remains on campus after 6:00 p.m., there is an overtime charge of $10.00 for every 10 minutes a student or family remains past 6:00 p.m. After 6:40 p.m., the charge increases to $15.00 per child or family for every 10 minutes, or portion thereof. Fundraisers As a Catholic school, we rely exclusively on tuition payments, fundraising activities, grants and donations to continue to provide our services to our community at a competitive rate that is accessible to many families. As such, several fundraising activities and programs are required of our families. However, there may be additional fundraisers that are optional for our families throughout the school year. Participation in these optional fundraisers is welcome and greatly appreciated. Every family must raise at least $425 in fundraising for the school in the 2014-2015 school year. There are several options available for our parents in order to accomplish this. Options 1) Make a one-time payment of $425 to the school by the start of the 2014-2015 school year Fundraising Options at SFCS 2) Have the $425 added to your tuition bill for the 2014 2015 school year 3) Raise the $425 in the various fundraising activities of the school throughout the school year Benefits This will be considered a donation to the school and will be entirely tax-deductible This will help to spread out the fundraising fee over the course of the year (11 months: $38.64/month; 12 months: $35.42) This will allow a family to raise the money for the school without having to take on the financial burden by themselves.

Families who choose to participate in the fundraising efforts of the school will have the following events to look forward to. Deadlines have been added to ensure timely payment of the fundraisers. Parents should know that mandatory fundraisers are planned throughout the school year to coincide with the cash flows of the school. Fundraising income is needed at the times they are placed in the year to alleviate tighter cash flow periods. Fundraising Opportunities at SFCS for 2014-2015 Fundraising Activity Time of Year Amount to Raise/Family Hannon Sponsorship Drive (Alternate: Chocolate Candy Sale) Scholarship Tea Raffle Tickets Jog-a-Thon (Alternate: World s Finest Chocolates) Fiesta Raffle (No Alternate) Fall $200 After Deadline: $240 Winter $25 Spring Late Spring $150 After Deadline: $190 $50 After Deadline: $90 Families will also have the opportunity to sell chocolate in place of the Hannon Raffle and the Jog-a-thon. These two may be used to help reach the target goal of $425. However, families who choose to participate in these must understand that the school only receives half of whatever amount is sold. The amount that will be credited toward a family s $425 goal will be the actual amount that the school receives from the chocolate fundraiser (which is 50% of the amount brought to the school). As a Catholic school, the operating budget is very tight. We strive to keep our operating costs down to in turn keep our tuition costs down as much as possible. Fundraising activities are a crucial part of our school s income and operating budget. Thus all parents are encouraged to go beyond the minimum fundraising requirements that are specified above to help the school. Parents must also understand that any money raised beyond the minimum fundraising requirements cannot be applied to any other balances due at the school. Parent Service Hours Education is most effective when our school works together with our school families. While we are blessed to have the support of a number of our school families, we also recognize the need to have all of our families involved. In the 2014 2015 school year, all families (regardless of the number of children in the school) will be required to complete a total of 35 service hours according to the following the schedule: Six (6) or more hours at two different school-sponsored events (3 hours each) Three (3) hours must be completed by December 19, 2014; the remaining three (3) should be completed by May 29, 2015 Not transferable to regular school day service hours, but with approval from the principal may be covered with donation of goods for school events Fifteen (15) or more service hours at the 2015 parish fiesta Not transferable to regular school day service hours, but with approval from the principal in extreme situations may be covered with donation of goods for the fiesta Fourteen (14) or more service hours through the school year

May be covered with donation of goods for school events The last fourteen (14) parent service hours can be served by helping at the school or donating items the school has requested. Families will receive credit for one (1) service hour for every $15 donation made to the school. A receipt may be required for the donation of goods to the school. Parents/Guardians may not complete more than 5 hours of service with any one event in the school year. The parish fiesta is the only exception to this policy. The school will publish opportunities for service or goods needed in the weekly Parent Bulletin. Parents should contact the school to verify that the need for service or goods still exists before making a donation. Although not encouraged, parents also have the option of paying off their service hour obligation for the school year. The fee for this is $600. Families will be billed in June for any service hours not completed in the school year at a rate of $15 per hour. If none of the service hours have been completed at the end of the school year, the family will be charged a flat rate of $600. All service hours must be completed (except the Fiesta hours) by May 29, 2015. Parents are asked to sign the Parent Service Hour Log folder in the office to track their completed service hours. The school secretary monitors all parent volunteer hours. Questions about service hours completed should be directed to the secretary.
