Summer Youth Events

Families Family Nights at The Table Wednesday, June 6 - August 29 (Skip July 4) 6-7:30 p.m., Easter by the Lake A blow-out intergenerational event each and every week! This is a chance for families to connect for worship, learning, service and fun. Family Camp at Wapo Register by August 3 Friday - Sunday, August 10-12, Cost: Varies based on family size The Wapo staff does all the cooking while you and your family enjoy time together. All rooms have multiple twin beds, a queen sized bed, and a private bathroom with shower. Tent and camper sites are also available. Families of all ages are welcome. Pre-K & Elementary Mini Pre-K Camp Register by May 23 Wednesday & Thursday, May 30-31, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Easter on the Hill, Cost: $12, For 3, 4 & 5 year olds born before 9/1/14 & potty trained, Min: 10 kids, Max: 20 kids Join the summer interns playing games, crafts, science experiments, snack, and Bible stories. Wapo One Day Register by July 31 Tuesday, August 14, Easter on the Hill, Grades 1-4 (spring 2018) Bus departs at 7:30 a.m. & returns at 4:30 p.m., Cost: $35 plus separate transportation fee of $12, Min: 10 kids, Max: 25 This one day camp allows kids to experience camp without even spending the night! Great for busy families and kids who may not be ready for an overnight experience. Camp Wapo counselors will lead kids through a fun schedule that includes crafts, devotions, music, water activities, treats from the canteen and a ton of games. Create memories to last a lifetime. Please bring your Bible and be prepared to learn all about God s great gift of communion. Traditionally, Easter youth receive first communion in 5th grade. However, youth can take the class earlier if parents feel the child is ready.

Rolling River Rampage (VBS) Monday - Friday, June 11-15, 9:30 a.m. - Noon, Easter on the Hill Cost: $35 per child, Age 4 (by June 1, 2018 & potty trained) - Gr. 4 (completed) Children discover that life with God is an adventure full of wonder and surprise, and that God is with them through anything. Music, exciting science, creative crafts, fun recreation, and memorable Bible stories will help kids know that God is always with them! Music Explorers - (Extended Day VBS) Monday - Thursday, June 11-14, Noon - 1:30 p.m. (after VBS) Grades 1-4 (Spring 2018), Cost: $15 per child Joining us for VBS? Stay and explore musical instruments and learn new songs! Bring a sack lunch of your own and after lunch we ll learn how music works and how it is put together. Who knows? Maybe the week will spark a passion in you! This is a perfect opportunity for a budding musician or a growing musical personality. (No need to own an instrument.) AMPED: Live Fully Alive! (VBS) Monday - Friday, July 23-27, 9:30 a.m. - Noon Easter by the Lake, Cost: $35 per child Age 4 (by June 1, 2018 & potty trained) - Gr. 4 (completed) It s going to be ELECTRIFYINGLY fun! We don t know if that s a real word, but we DO know it s going to be an EXTREMELY awesome VBS.

Grades 6-8 Middle School Sunday Night Live - SNL (previously Word on Wednesday) Sundays, July 8 - August 5, 7-8 p.m., Easter by the Lake WOW (Word on Wednesday) has moved and been retooled. Training: Sunday, June 10, 1:30 p.m., Easter on the Hill Anyone age 12 and up can volunteer in the nursery at Easter. Summer 2018 Mission Trip Reunion Lock-In Sunday, August 19, 8 p.m. - Midnight Easter by the Lake, Cost: $5 The trips are done and we re getting back into routines, but we need to celebrate all the great memories and stories from your trip. Come hang out at Easter by the Lake with all of your trip friends and take a night to celebrate, feast and play. Volunteer at Summer Camp (VBS) Volunteers make this ministry possible. Please be part of these exciting weeks! Youth who are entering 6th grade and up (Fall 2018) are invited to help with Summer Camps as crew leaders and leader assistants! First come, first served. Join Middle School Youth Band We re always looking for more singers, pianists, guitar and bass players, and drummers! Are you interested in joining the middle school youth band? If so, please sign up for an audition with Jason and we ll begin the year by playing for Summer Camp openings and closings! Auditions will take place on Wednesday, May 9 at Easter by the Lake. Grades 9-12 High School Backyard Bible Study Wednesdays, June 6 - August 22, 7-9 p.m. Locations around Dakota County (No BYBS July 4 & August 15) Youth on Wednesday switches gears during the summer. Instead of meeting at Easter by the Lake, we meet in backyards. Don t worry, they know we are coming! Host homes and directions will be posted on easter.org, Remind and the youth Facebook page. Summer is gonna be great filled with you, your friends and God s word. Attention all students entering 9th grade: you are welcome to join us. No registration needed. Mission Trip Sponsors Thank You Night Sunday, August 19, 6 p.m., Easter by the Lake All are invited to celebrate the ministry of Easter s Summer Youth Mission trips. Join us at Easter by the Lake as our summer missionaries say a huge thank you to all who prayed for and supported these trips. The evening will include light desserts, reflections from the mission trips, and pictures highlighting some of the work and new friends we made. Everyone is welcome! High School Leadership (TIM Team) If you are interested in being involved with high school leadership, mentoring middle schoolers and you will be in 10th -12th grade, please contact Hans Vigesaa at hans@easter.org for information about TIM Team. There are several events throughout the summer including a fantastic leadership retreat, August 10-12, followed by a week at Wapo, August 12-17.

Summer at Easter Lutheran The Children, Youth and Family Ministry Team is committed to providing activities that integrate worship, service, fellowship, and learning. Each event includes a faith component and fellowship. Please share this brochure with friends!! Everyone is welcome! Online Registration and Payments Easter Lutheran offers the option of registering and paying for summer events online. Simply visit easter.org and use the menu to select Youth & Family (Summer).

Guidelines for Events Registration is based on Spring 2018 grade levels. Scholarships may be available. Contact Pastor Steve at 651-452-3680. Payments are due in full by the registration deadlines. Need to cancel? Call the church office at 651-452-3680. If a refund is possible, a check will be mailed, minus a $5 processing fee. If the minimum attendance number for an event is not met by the deadline, the event may be canceled. You ll be contacted and given a refund. Waiting lists are kept once maximums are reached.
