Thank You For Coming In order to make graduation the best possible experience for the graduates and the audience, we feel that it is important that we clearly communicate the plans and the expectations for all on graduation day. The administration, graduation committee, and the graduates, thank you for coming tonight.

A Few Final Items to Take Care of Before The Big Day

Graduation Package Must be Paid!!! $75 covers the cost of Constitution Hall, programs, tickets, senior picnic, cap and gown, senior t-shirt and other costs that the class must cover. Unpaid Senior Dues are now OBLIGATIONS. Obligations can be paid today or in the financial office.

Obligations: Before any senior will be permitted to graduate or to participate in a senior activity, including rehearsals, ALL obligations must be satisfied. No personal checks will be accepted after May 2nd. Obligations include: Financial obligations Detentions owed SSL hours Completion of the senior surveys

Mandatory Graduation Rehearsal Wednesday, May 28th 7:30 am - 11:30 am A light breakfast will be provided. Senior Picnic immediately following rehearsal.

Senior Picnic Wednesday, May 28, 2014 12 to 5 Bohrer Park at Summit Hall, Gaithersburg, Mini-golf, Food, Friends and Fun Students must provide their own transportation

About Graduation What You Need To Know For The BIG DAY!!

Students should arrive at DAR no later than 6:00 p.m. on graduation day. The doors to DAR will be closed right before the students process into the hall and then reopen.

Transportation Transportation is not provided for the graduates. Bus Transportation: Tickets for round trip bus transportation from SVHS to Constitution Hall will be sold on a first come, first served basis. The tickets will be $25.00 per person and they are non-refundable. Complete and return the form found in this packet. Contact person: Lee Ann Wolfe

Tickets to get into Constitution Hall: All parents and guests must have a ticket. Graduates will receive 6 tickets on May 28, 2014 at the end of graduation rehearsal. Extra tickets will be available by advanced written request only. No graduate will be given more than a total of 12 tickets. Please do not request more tickets than you need.

Handicapped Accommodations Handicapped seating is available beginning at 6:00pm. (One guest can be seated nearby as needed). All individuals in need of these accommodations must enter from the D Street entrance (boy s side). An interpreter for the hearing impaired can be provided. Please complete the form in the Parent Survey and return it to Ms. Peluso prior to the due date. NOTE: We are able to make other accommodations/arrangements as needed but concerns should be conveyed to Ms. Peluso no later than April 11, 2014!

Capturing the Moment Videography: A DVD of graduation is available for purchase. Complete and return the form found in your packet to Mrs. Yoo Kim- Miles. Guests may only take pictures at their seats. PLEASE NOTE: Tripods will not be permitted.

Graduation Speaker The 2014 Class Officers elected to continue a practice started in 2013, and invite a SVHS staff member to be the Graduation Speaker. The class voted and Mrs. Sue Savini will be the speaker for this year s ceremony. Mrs. Savini has been a respected member of the SVHS community for 15 years and will have a great message to pass on to our graduates.

Academic Attire Must be worn by those graduates electing to participate in the ceremony; caps and gowns are worn in conjunction with: Gentlemen: long dress pants, dress shoes with socks, WHITE shirt with collar and tie, (no collarless shirts) no jewelry should be worn on the outside of the robe Ladies: dress, skirt, blouse of light colors are best (dark colors show through) dress shoes (consider comfort and agility) no jewelry should be worn on the outside of the robe White collars provided with gown ARE NOT to be worn

Student Service Learning All SSL hours must be completed by April 30th Criteria for SSL hours preapproved, nonprofit, tax exempt organization addresses a real need in the community! SSL opportunities are posted on www.mcpsssl.org click on the link SSL Community Opportunities. Check with Ms. Calabrese if you have questions.

Student Service Learning Certificate of Meritorious Service. Seniors who have documented 260 or more SSL hours by the first Friday in April will be awarded a Certificate of Meritorious Service. All documentation must be submitted no later than Tuesday, April 2 to qualify. This special honor will be included in the graduation program.
