Oakmont High School Enrollment 2018 2019 Future Freshman Enrollment Overview Welcome Future Vikings! Your high school journey begins here and we are proud to be a part of it. RJUHSD uses an online registration system to enroll future students starting February 20th. This is the FIRST STEP in your new journey. Please go to https://rosevillejuhsd.asp.aeries.net/air/ to being your enrollment. Course Selections February 20th - Online course selection portal will OPEN (NOT A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS) Using your username and password (contact klafferty@rjuhusd.us if username and password is not on the front of this packet) log on to https://homelink.rjuhsd.us/. Enter your course selections following a review of the OHS course catalog and or your course selection sheet attached. The portal will close March 6th at midnight. This allows you 15 days to complete this step. Note: There is no priority in course selections so please take your time and review OHS options. The 2018-2019 course catalog can be viewed on our website under the Guidance tab. SAVE the DATE February 28th - 8th Grade Parent and Student Information Night 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm All departments and programs will showcase their course offerings. Parents and students will be able to learn about Oakmont s offerings and receive guidance on course selections. SAVE the DATE March 6th - Registration Help Night 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm The OHS Library is available for those families in need of internet access, a translator, or general registration help. Please bring all required documents for enrollment. SAVE the DATE March 7th - Enrollment Night Tonight you will submit your registration documents (see attached) to finalize your enrollment. You will also meet with a counselor or administrator to finalize the course selections you have chosen. Please arrive at your assigned time (front page of this packet). SAVE the DATE August 6th - OHS Viking Voyage Days and Freshman Blue Crew 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm and 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm Check your emails this summer to find your schedule pick up time (based on last name) for Viking Voyage Days. Then join us from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm for Freshman Blue Crew. Blue Crew is a great way for freshman to learn about everything Oakmont has to offer as well as get a feel for where things are on campus. WELCOME BACK! August 9th - 7:45 am We hope you enjoyed your summer! We have been working hard on the steps above to create a master schedule. Your 2018-2019 classes will be available to you on Viking Voyage Day. Please check the OHS website for the most up to date information.

Online Registration Instructions 1. Go to www.rjuhsd.us and click on Enrollment under Important Resources on the right side of the screen 2. Before starting the enrollment process, please read through the Annual Parent Notice. You will be asked to confirm that you have reviewed this document at the end of the enrollment process. 3. Under Step 1, click on AERIES Internet Registration 4. Click on Enroll A New Student on the bottom left of the screen 5. From the drop down menu, select 2018-2019, Pre-Enrollment 6. Carefully read about the required documents. Click Next 7. Create a new account

8. Once you create your account and your school is confirmed (based on boundaries). You will be sent an email with a link to activate your account. Please check your spam/junk mail if email is not received right away. The email is from: HomeLinkHelp. When the email is received, click on the link and it will then take you to our online registration page. 9. Please fill in all required fields. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING a. When asked to indicate your student s grade level, please select current grade NOT next year s grade. If going into the 9 th grade please select 8 th grade, as the system rolls over to the next grade they will be going into in July. b. Be sure to have your immunization records with you as you will be asked to enter them 10. If you need to save your information and complete the enrollment process later, click the Finish Later button on the right. 11. If the information you entered is correct, click Finish and Submit. After clicking Finish and Submit, no further changes can be made online. 12. YOU MUST PRINT THE ENROLLMENT CONFIRMATION PAGE. SIGN AT THE BOTTOM, AND BRING TO THE OAKMONT OFFICE OR REGISTRATION NIGHT ALONG WITH ALL OTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS. This means students will sign up for 8 classes now, but be assigned only 4 classes for the fall term and the other 4 classes for the spring term. This allows students to double up on classes (i.e. A student could take Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 in the same school year.). HOMELINK COURSE SELECTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR INCOMING FRESHMEN 1. Log on to HomeLink (http://homelink.rjuhsd.us) using your STUDENT RJUHSD issued email address, then enter your password*. Example: StudentFirstName.StudentLastName@student.rjuhsd.us *This information was provided on the top right corner of your enrollment packet on a sticker. *Intra/Inter- Please review enrollment checklist for instructions in order to be issued an email and password. 2. Click on Course Requests Entry under Student Info menu Please use your Course Selection Worksheet and the OHS Course Catalog (found at http://oakmont.org) to assist you in making your selections. Be aware of A-G & district requirements. You can select a course by either using the drop down menu to find courses by subject in Sbj Area or, search for a course by course ID # or name in Name or Nbr, then click Search. Click on the course you would like to request and a window will appear. Click OK to add or Cancel to exit. Once a course has been requested, it will display on the side of the corresponding subject area. To delete a course request, click the icon. Incoming freshmen will have CP English 9, PE 9, NGSS Biology, and Health already selected for them. They will need to pick a math class, world language class (if applicable), and electives. 3. For each elective course, students will need to select their alternate elective class. 4. After you have selected 8 courses and alternates (9 courses for seniors because government / economics needs to be added separately), review your course request details by clicking Course Requests under the Student Info menu. Make sure these classes match your Course Request Worksheet and that you have written in four alternates on the Worksheet (even if you didn t submit four alternates on Homelink). 5. Students will bring their completed Course Request Worksheet on March 7 th, 8 th Grade Registration Evening, to review with a counselor. Please note this evening will be your only opportunity to meet with a counselor discuss your course selections. It is highly recommended that Students and Parents attend the Showcase Night on February 28 at 6pm to learn more about OHS and all of the classes and programs to help with your four-year planning at Oakmont. 6. Students and Parents needing internet and computer access can bring all their paperwork on March 6 th from 4-7pm to the Oakmont library. Staff and translators will be present to assist families with the entire registration process and course selection process. Please bring all required documents. to

BLUE CREW FRESHMEN WELCOME EVENT ALL INCOMING 9 TH GRADE STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND Monday, August 6 th at Oakmont HS 3:00 PM 8:00PM Check-in begins at 2:00 PM with our pre-event party in the Quad! It s recommended to arrive for registration no later than 2:40 PM Frosh Parent Meeting from 7:15 PM -8:00 PM in the Cafeteria Program Cost $18 Cost includes all taxes and fees, an O-Zone shirt (you will wear it all year!), dinner and more! The purpose of this orientation is to make the transition from middle school to high school a positive one. Seniors and juniors will be serving as leaders and mentors to the freshmen. Large and small group activities are designed to address students needs and concerns in an enjoyable manner. Please wear comfortable clothes and if possible have a parent take home textbooks so you don t have to carry them.
