VOLUME 4 - EDITION ONE 10 February 2016 LOOKING FORWARD TO A SUCCESSFUL 2016! Knowledge & Insight Equality & Compassion Integration & Wholeness Confidence, Competence & Responsibility Self-worth Welcome back to a new year of Inter-School Sporting Competition for 2016. With the addition of our new Gymnasium, outside playing court facilities and fitness suite, this is an exciting year for sport at Peter Moyes ACS. The Gymnasium will allow all Basketball, Volleyball and Netball to be played inside during Inter-School fixtures raising the standard of play, as well as allowing the introduction of exciting alternative sports into the Physical Education Curriculum. We are looking to improve upon the excellent sporting success we achieved last year, and I am very pleased to inform you that the Summer Inter-School Sports Program is commencing in Week 2 for all sports in all years subject to hot weather! The Term 1 enrolments are now open online via the Parent Portal for Junior & Senior Inter-School Sport and all Inter- School Sporting Representation from Terms 1 & 2 will be recorded in a student s Semester One Report. Every single Middle and Senior School student is given an Inter-School Sports Information Booklet at the commencement of the year, which details all aspects of the 2016 sporting calendar. It is encouraged that students and parents retain this for reference for the duration of the academic year. This can also be e-mailed to parents as a PDF document by request to bstreeter@petermoyes.wa.edu.au. All Inter-School Sports information can be found online via the Sports News at http://www.petermoyes.wa.edu.au/news -events/newsletters/sport-news and parents and students should use this publication as a source of reference for all information pertaining to Inter-School Sports. Parents are also e-mailed directly on a periodic basis if their son or daughter is involved in a CAS Team or ACC Squad. The School s Sporting Ambitions for 2016: Continue to aim for promotion at ACC Swimming to regain our B Division position whilst continuing to develop our Junior Swimmers to promote greater depth in the swimming squad. Maintain our Top 2 Overall Aggregate placing at the ACC Cross Country with our first 3 students finishing amongst the top 30 places overall in each age group. Challenge for the ACC Athletics A Division title and maintain our placing amongst the top three Schools within the Division whilst maintaining a Top 3 Virtual Overall Aggregate with students achieving a top 10 virtual placing overall. CAS teams to remain consistently competitive in a range of sports aiming to finish in the Top 2 achieving a Grand Final qualification. Retain the Champion Winter Sports School title for the fifth successive year and improve upon our Summer Sport to achieve Champion Overall School for the first time.

All students are encouraged to represent our School and should your son/daughter play community sport, it is emphasised that School representation is expected wherever possible in that particular sport. Coastal Associated School Sport encourages participation, sportsmanship and healthy competition. Our ACC Squad values are Dedication, Hardwork & Ambition. ACC Swimming Squad Middle & Senior School Students The Provisional ACC Swimming Squad is published following the Inter-House Carnivals in Week 3. Parents of all students selected will be e-mailed with notification of selection, as well as the student receiving a letter of selection notification.
