ESTABLISHING and MAINTAINING YOUR TRACK RECORD: With graduation looming, one might be tempted to "relax" at the end of the term, however, your administration and faculty urges you to continue good study habits right to the end of the year. Remember, you are in the process of establishing an important record of achievement that reflects on you for the rest of your life; work diligently right to the end of your obligations. Prospective employers and especially college admissions and scholarship committees will make note of slack efforts toward the end of your schooling. Please study hard for your exams do your best. Maintain a good attendance record right to the end of the school year. THE GRADUATION CEREMONY: The Graduation Ceremony is a cultural tradition termed as a rite of passage. It is a ritual or ceremony marking one stage of a person s life to another. The graduation ceremony dates back to the 12 th century. To ensure a memorable Graduation Ceremony for graduates and guests, several considerations must be taken into account: DRESS APPROPRIATELY: Graduation from high school comes once in your lifetime. Your parents, relatives, friends, and most importantly YOU deserve a dignified and memorable graduation ceremony. Your cooperation is vital. Please

use good judgment when you dress for this occasion. Your cap and gown, etc. cannot be defaced or decorated in any fashion. This will not be allowed during the ceremony. Shoes/sandals are required! BE ATTENTIVE: The ceremony is about you and for you. Be courteous and respectful to the speakers. Please provide them with your utmost attention. DRUGS, INTOXICANTS, TOBACCO, ETC.: This is a school function, therefore, any graduate who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. Likewise, possession of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco is not permitted. PARTICIPATION IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT: Students who do not follow the established dress and behavioral code will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. DIPLOMA COVERS ONLY DISTRIBUTED: At the Graduation Ceremony, graduates will receive the diploma cover, not the official diploma. The official diploma will be mailed directly to graduates after verifying that all academic, financial, and behavioral/disciplinary obligations have been met. KEEP VALUABLES AT HOME: To avoid possible theft or loss, students are reminded to keep valuables at home.
