This is a very busy time of the year with a range of activities and get-togethers at St Mary s. The following dates may be of assistance to you as the year comes to a close. Tuesday and Wednesday, 5th and 6th December- Parent and Teacher Interviews Friday, 8th December- Grandparents Day at St Mary s commences with Mass at 10.15am Tuesday, 12th December- Grade Six Graduation Wednesday, 13th December- End of Year Carols and Prep Nativity Monday, 18th December- Grade 6 Day Out Tuesday, 19th December- Last day for Children. (3.20pm finish with assembly at 12.30pm). This will include acknowledging teachers and families who will be leaving. The Staff of St Mary s would like to invite all families and friends to our: Nativity Play, Carol Evening and BYO Picnic Tea This will be held on Wednesday, December 13th in the school grounds and we provide you with the following Timetable: 5pm- Children arrive at school 5.30pm- Prep Nativity Play Followed by Class Performances of Christmas items All children are expected to attend this event as the Class Performances will see every child perform. The children are looking forward to this event and performing in front of families and friends. The Prep Nativity Play will again be something not to be missed. A note has been sent home this week and a flyer is included in this week s newsletter. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. Jason - Last Day of Term Finish at 3.20pm Reminder: Friday 8th December will be our last P & F Cake Raffle for the year with lots of prizes. Tickets are 20cent each, with a maximum of $1.00. Thanks for your support.

School Fees: Due date for the 3rd and Final Instalment of School Fees and Levies was due on Friday 27th October 2017 If you have outstanding fees from this year please pay by EFT as soon as possible. Statements have been sent home for any outstanding accounts. Please note we now also have EFTPOS facilities as another method of payment. Thankyou to those families who have been prompt with their School Fee payments so far. Grandparents Day: We will be having a Grandparents Day on Friday 8th December, an invitation has been sent home. Grandparents will come and celebrate the Feast of The Immaculate Conception Mass at 10.15am followed by a morning tea and school lesson with their grandchildren. Year 6 Graduation: Graduation for our Year 6 students will be on Tuesday 12th December starting with Mass at 6pm. The Graduation celebration will be a seated meal for the Year 6 graduate and their immediate family (parents and siblings - with a maximum of 5 guests), with speeches and presentations towards the end of meal. Grandparents and other relatives/ friends are welcome to attend the Mass. St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal : We will once again be supporting St Vincent De Paul s Christmas Appeal by asking our School families to donate to our Christmas Toy Appeal. If each family were to provide one gift, we d certainly brighten up the lives of many children on Christmas Day. We will present our gifts to a representative from St. Vincent De Paul Society during our End of Year Mass on Friday 15th December at 10.15am. A note has been sent home. Hooptime: On Monday 27th November children from St Marys Maffra Primary School travelled to Melbourne to compete in the Hooptime State Finals. Teams had won their way through to the day after competing in local events. Hooptime is a Basketball Victoria initiative with over 320 boys teams and 240 girls teams entered across the state this year. The St Mary's boys team finished third overall narrowly losing the semi final by 1 point and the girls team finished in the top six teams in the state - a fantastic effort. St Mary's Maffra were one of only three school to have both girls and boys represented. Congratulations to the students who represented the school proudly.

Why not celebrate New Year s Eve at Dargo, the High Plains are a beautiful place to spend the night partying and seeing in the New Year 2018. Mass at 12noon then onto the Park or Hotel for your Celebrations. There are accommodations and camping sites, but not sure on availability so if you re thinking of making a night of it why not contact them and find out now. End of Year Carols & Family Get-together The Staff of St. Mary s School Maffra would like to invite all families and friends to our "Nativity Play, Carols Evening & BYO Picnic Tea" on Wednesday, December 13th in the Gazebo and School Grounds The Timetable for the evening is as follows: 5.00pm 5.30pm followed by BYO picnic tea, drinks Children to arrive at School Prep Nativity Play Class performances of Christmas items (no alcohol please), chairs, rugs, insect repellent etc. It would be good to see as many families & friends as possible here at School on the night, to celebrate the end of another school year. (no skateboards or scooters please)
