ABOUT US The special Academic Institution, Suddhananda Vidyalaya functioning under Samvit Sagar Trust located at Nachhipur in district of Cuttack was established by Pujya Swami Suddhananda Ji in the year 2002 with the strength of 9 students. Our institution has been steadily expanding over the years and the present strength of the school has grown up to 470 having classes from LKG to STD-X. The school had already got the N.O.C. from the Government of Odisha upto Std. X, and now the school is affiliated to C.B.S.E. New Delhi up to class X. A team of 21 well qualified teachers under the guidance of the principal, Shri. Debendra Sarangi, M.A. M.Ed. has dedicated itself for the betterment of the school. There are 14 non-teaching staff including office assistant, drivers,helpers, peon & ayas for the smooth running of the school. School is also providing hostel facilities for the students. The performances of hostel students are highly appreciated by the guardians. Swami Atmananda Saraswati Ji Brn. Manisha Chaitanyaji, & the residential teacher Mr.P.K Biswal are looking after them with utmost care by providing excellent coaching and valuable guidance. For the inner development of the teachers Swamiji is taking Self-knowledge classes once in a week. For the moral and spiritual development of the students, Brni. Manisha Chaitanyaji Secretary-cum- Manager of Suddhananda Vidyalaya takes SYM and chanting classes for the children and takes care of the accounts of the school. FACILITIES LABORATORIES We are fully committed to holistic development of children. We provide them with ample opportunities to do and to learn, to explore and to discover, to change and to influence. The school has spacious and well-ventilated laboratories for the departments of chemistry, physics and bio-sciences. Furnished with all the necessary instruments and accessories, the labs ensure that the practical understanding of the subject is comprehensive and complete. They are under the charge of qualified staff and Lab. Asstt. This facility has enabled the students to perform experiments, individually, under the supervision of teachers. ART ACTIVITIES Art gives expression to our aesthetic abilities. Today, it is important for students to be imaginative, creative and think outof-the box. To develop these artistic skill-sets in its students, DAV offers a number of different art activities as per class level. These include: Printing: jute, leaf, vegetable, spray and blow print Painting: glass painting, oil painting, marble painting, nib painting, knife painting. thumb painting and finger painting Craft activities like clay modeling, soft toys, pottery, tie-dye, batik, metallic imprinting, face masks, etc. SPORTS, YOGA & FITNESS The importance of sports and games in life is highlighted by the fact that it has social; emotional as well as physical nuances. It helps people to learn to adapt to their environment. It improves social relationships with the people around us. Considering the significance of sports in life we have provides a modern infrastructure and sports equipments to our budding young sports enthusiasts. We have an operational Football Ground, Handball Ground, Hockey Ground, Kho-Kho Ground, and a vollyball Courts. Keeping in view the importance of indoor games, we also offer the amenities of indoor games like Carom, Chess and many more. COMPUTER Computers, which have become a modern necessity of present day life, have been inducted in the school education, so that the student may learn about it right from very beginning of his/her life. Our school has a grand set-up of computers starting from class I to class X. The lab is fully equipped with hardware and software resources. The school has latest configuration computers and peripherals so that they can also work in multimedia environment. For hardware maintenance a competent group of engineers has been assigned the responsibilities. A well qualified faculty always supports students to achieve positive results. The school is trying to impart computer education in such a way that after school days, the youth of India may fulfill the growing needs of Information Technology and industry to help the nation in every possible way.
LIBRARY The School brings a world of knowledge to the students through 15,000 volumes books in English and Hindi, on a wide range of subjects. Students are encouraged to learn and refer to these books for wider and deeper understanding of the subjects of their interest and the reading room subscribes to 40 periodicals and journals. TRANSPORT (Twin city) Students can avail the school transport subject to the availability of seats. The routes of the school buses are pre - defined and the parents should consult the school transport incharge for necessary details. Bus facility is not mandatory. AUDIO-VISUAL ROOM The school has a well-furnished and plush audio-visual setup. It serves as a valuable educational aid and multimedia facility acting as a catalyst in not only creating interest but also in increasing understanding of the students in the basic concepts of various disciplines. TALENT SEARCH PROGRAMMES The school provides facilities for a number of Talent Search Programmes besides the academic curriculum. PRAYER HALL The school has a large and elegant prayer hall befitting the educational philosophy of the school. It is the most sacred space of the school premises where daily prayers, meetings and co-curricular activities are organised. ANNUAL SPORTS AND CULTURAL MEET The sports and cultural meet is an exhibition of events demonstrating a high degree of perfection, coordination and skill in the presence of a large audience. Sports and games are encouraged in the school not with a view to promote competition but to look high beyond competition and participate in the events in order to maintain a healthy body and mind. It serves to foster the virtues of team-spirit and camaraderie in the energetic youngsters, apart from general entertainment. SCHOOL DIARY We provide all students with a school diary and we hope parents will endorse its contents by signing and returning it to school. VIII are admitted on the basis of availability of seats. Parents are required to produce original birth certificate for proof of age at the time of admission and transfer certificate, promotion card for classes I to VIII. Application forms can be had from the school office on payment during office hours. FEE SCHEDULE Admission fees once deposited is not refundable. ATTENDANCE Students should not be absent from school except for valid reasons. Absence from school should be supported by leave letters from parents and on Medical certificates. On the reopening and closing day of every term, attendance is compulsory. Punctuality is stressed upon. MEDICAL FACILITIES Annual medical check up is done for all the children at school. STUDY MATERIAL The school will provide text books and note books on payment. HOSTEL FACILITIES Good hostel accommodation is provided by school for Std V to X.
