PRINCIPAL S NEWS 24th August 2018 Late last week we saw our choirs and ensembles shine at the Queensland Catholic Music Festival. The effort, talent and commitment from so many students, staff and parents was simply amazing. We had a review of the way we do Learning Support during and Tuesday and the external panel reminded me how lucky I am to work in such a great school and to have such a committed Learning Support Team. On Wednesday we had an internal financial audit and the auditor was clearly impressed with the excellent work Maria Davies does in managing the complexities of our school finances. On Thursday I had a chance to review the results of our recent Parent Satisfaction Survey. I was delighted with the number of parents who made the effort to complete the survey. The results were very positive and the feedback very helpful. A definite highlight was having Prep lead prayer this week. We were all inspired by their enthusiasm and confidence and they did an excellent job of sharing ways in which we can all show love towards others. Thank you to you all, staff, parents and students for supporting every aspect of our school. It is that effort and commitment that makes St Patrick s a very special place to learn and to work. QCMF Our music groups are amazing! Congratulations to all of our groups on outstanding performances at the Queensland Catholic Schools Music Festival in Brisbane. Our Junior Choir, Junior Strings and Senior Strings all received Silver Awards. Our Senior Choir received a Gold Award! A huge thank you to Mrs Morley for her work with the Choirs and Miss Kate and Mrs Connolly for their work with the Strings groups. We were very fortunate to have Father Andrew accompany our groups this year on piano, and are also grateful to Mrs Alison O Malley for all of her work in rehearsing with our choirs. Thank you also to Mrs Wilson for her organisation and to our supervising staff on the day Mrs Cook, Mrs Cullinan and Miss Ros. We also appreciate the support of teachers who supervised students and duties at school. We are excited about our final event for the year our Cultural Night will be held at Shalom College on Wednesday 21st November from 6pm. All strings, choirs and guitar groups will perform. All of our Year 3 students will also make their debut strings performance! Tickets will go on sale in late October. DONATIONS REQUIRED Our Reef Guardian team are seeking donations of any plastic bottle caps and old t-shirts for some upcoming Reef Guardian projects. If you are able to help please drop them into the office.
